06 Mustang GT suspension noises

I'll explain the best I can.

Three weeks ago I installed Steeda Sports, Steeda Pro-Action shocks/struts, GT500 strut mounts and a BMR panhard bar. Thanks to TacoBill for a great write-up BTW!

Everything has been great and it handles REALLY well! Now I needed to upgrade my stock 17" Pirelli's. So I ordered a set of GT500 take-offs and I love them. I installed them and went on a 20 mile test drive and everything was great. No noise everything normal.

I came home knowing the car was pulling to the left so I headed back out to check the tire pressure. And don't you know it there were ALL low especailly the left front. I inflated them to GT500 specs of 35 PSI. Then the trouble starts.....

It's making noises now. The kind that disturb me a little. It creeks and makes odd noises over all bumps big and small up to about 35-40 MPH. On the highway I can hit the biggest bumps out there and not a beep Most of the noise is in the front but some is in the rear. It steers straight and handles AWESOME with the Goodyears though.

I haven't begun to check specifics, wondering where I should start?

Thanks!

Did you put thread lock on the sway bar end link nuts? Did you tourqe the hell out of them? If they aren't torqued down enough they can make the noise you are describing.

I assume the front end correct? I torqued them to spec but did not use loc-tite. I'll check that out, thanks!

I had this problem in the front, it created more of a clunking sound in the front of the car.

You're problem was the sway bar end links?

Jedi was yours silent at faster speeds?

I just got back from lunch and driving through town it sounded so bad I was frightened. But as soon as I got up to 40 or so it stopped. I was up to 80 on a pothole ridden highway and it never made a sound!

When you tightened down the strut mount nuts did you keep going until it stops? I initially tightened to the same number of threads but ended up re-tightening after experiencing a pop/creak. Also like said above the end link is a common problem. Check both top and bottom. The end on the strut is difficult to get tightened.

Thanks for the reply Randy, I did tighten the strut mount down all the way when I assembled them.

It was the sway bar end links! I torqued them to spec when I reinstalled and sure enough they were loose! I used Red Loc-Tite this time and tightened the living **** out of it. Thanks for the help everyone!

Yeah the endlink spec is hard to achieve the way they are designed. I used blue loctite because I was under the impression red requires a blowtorch to remove.

I girl I know who works in and alignment/brake shop recommended the red. She said they use the red on pretty much all suspension parts that are "jostled" a lot. She says an impact will take the bolts off without heat or heat it up for hand tools.
