Hey Mr. Clean. I just got noticed that the 427 SOHC thread was updated, so here it is:

http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showth...5&goto=newpost

Easier than searching for it.

Hey thanks for heads up ttbit!

So my education on Terminators continues....the stock engines have 4V heads and forged internals? That's amazing....

Best of luck.

Only thing these new cars can't do is get that sweet sound the older ones have.

What about your brakes?

What about your transmission?

What about your suspension?

What about your fuel system?

What about your clutch?

Terms have better rods than GT500's. They have Manley 4340 H-beam rods rated at 700HP at 7500 RPM. The engine is flat out amazing. 20 PSI boost on stock internals = no problem. An 05+ GT will disintegrate at that level.

Uh, no.
Tell that to the guys trying to launch at 5k on slicks......Ive seen many a terminator still sitting at the line after attempting that. I'll take my live axle 05' any day over the IRS. Im talking about drag racing here, road racing might be a different story.

Live axles never have issues, like this GT500:

Ah it's all about the power potential of the cobra. Something the 05+'s definatly don't have. Forged internals and 4V heads go a long way.
For sure, that would be nice, I guess I don't really need (won't say don't want) 500HP in my car. I mean if I had better roads around here and wasn't getting mellow I'd probably be all over it. Don't get me wrong, those terminators are amazing cars for a factory built piece, I just I guess don't need that much car because it would really become an occasional driver for me. If I was perhaps well off and had the garage space and what not, then yeah I'll have some really fast cars, but for now the 300-400HP range is more than enough for this cowboy.

your last line says it best, tell your argument to a guy that might not ever run his car at a drag strip. mine has been down three times, there arent many more than that. i have yet to launch the car hard either.

different strokes for different fokes, hopefully in about 5 years i can find a white terminator convertible to add to the collection.

At lot less problems than IRS cars. There's no argument for IRS while drag racing so don't even try.

Don't even try to argue that a Mustang GT can compete with a terminator. They can't. Mod for mod, dollar for dollar, impossible.

Holy cow!! I can't believe this thread has caused so much trouble.

I believe the nickname "Terminator" derived from the car during the build process. It is the codename that SVT used and referenced. The new GT 500's codename was Condore.

To answer the questions: Yes, I purchased the car and love it. The handling with the IRS is awesome and the power speaks for itselft. I do miss the larger interior of the s197, as well as the shaker 500, but everytime I throttle down and hear the blower whine .

Here are a few pics.
