Um, no. My 1st car (at 16) was a '66 convertible (200 ci inline 6 POS), my 2nd a '67 coupe (2Bbl V8 3spd auto), my 3rd a '65 GT / Hi-Po, then I had another '66 coupe V8 3spd auto. The ensuing Mustangs were seriously lacking in the looks deptarment/quality IMHO, so I bought the last 300ZXTT imported into the US (96'), then a '99 C5 Vette (in '98), then a '97 Viper GTS, and after a few years of no sports car, I just bought an S197.
So, no the S197 wasn't my 1st Mustang, but I had no idea what a "Terminator" was, because at the time I had my NA Viper GTS with minor mods (K&N filter in stock airbox and headers), and was SPANKING what I now know are Terminators with the 464 rwhp/485 rwtq, which I could get to the ground effectively with the 335/35/17s. In fact I remember being on the Beltway 8, and a dude came up with a "Terminator" and wanted to run, so I spanked him, he wanted to go again, so I spanked him again, and then he asked that I lower the window and said that he didn't understand how I could do that when he has some mods done to his supercharger and that he was running 500 hp.

I feel the same way, I even perfer the older style seats they seem more comfortable to me.

Terminators are sweet ride for sure, and bullet proof with the forged internals. Good choice. I love my 05 GT and dont plan to sell it but there are times I wish I would have gone with the cobra.

Yeah ok bud. 464rwhp in Houston isn't worth ****. Go to some meets and you would've gotten a WHOLE lotta "so what" looks.

Hey, responding to your smart-comment/pseudo-attack evidently brought on by an honest question.

Why don't you pm me a time and place in Houston and we can talk about it face to face?

People who don't know the term Terminator for the Cobra were not heavy reading Mustang fans, most likely. You can't find a mag that hasn't referred to it that way since a couple of years before it was available.

I know many owners of Mustangs that don't know what an SN95 is, a GTS, Fox body, etc... Always a lot to learn and so little time. Look how many people bashed the awesome 427 SOHC equiped s197 car that was posted here not too long ago.

Neat cars. I thought about one myself.

Lol, I dont think anyone needs to go to Houston to find cars with more then 464rwhp. Theres always someone bigger and badder then you, anywhere you go. 464rwhp is "in most peoples books" a respectable amount of good ol' clean fun.

I guess that thread was active before I joined this forum, but that sounds interesting: I'm gonna to a search and look for it.

true dat!

Congrats on the Termy The first mustang I ever sat in/begged my parents to buy me was an '04 mystic. That car wsa bloody awesome, but $40K was too much for a 15 year old lol.

As for the Cabins, I've sat in S197s and SN95s, and I've had no issue in either. I have to say, after sitting in my Bullitt, I can hardly stand sitting in things like my parent's BMWs.. the seats just arent comfortable in comparison

anyhow, take care of that puppy

This is my first...only liked the old school ones before the Mustang II came out but could not afford to restore..now that I'm older ,this seemed like the logical choice....Will you still be my friend?

Well you're not cool cause you're not familiar with Mustang Jargon.

I was always too busy driving my cars and working, to read about it.

Besides, this is the first car I have ever owned that threw a check engine light if I farted in it's general direction. I really never had a reason to "read" so much.

I prefer the newer seats myself but I'm a broad fellow so I found the 04 seats to be a bit tight. Comfy, but tight.

I think given both options I'd still take my 06, especially if it had a handling kit. I'd just take the $$ and put on a roush blower if I was that concerned about warranty. That'd get me in the 400HP ballpark and I get the styling and better chassis to boot (IRS aside if you're into that).

Ah it's all about the power potential of the cobra. Something the 05+'s definatly don't have. Forged internals and 4V heads go a long way.

Jake and the rest of y'all: I apologize for the aggressive outburst.

I do like the last Cobra, (checked one parked at the grocery store the other day), I especially like the swaede (sp?) seats. I wouldn't mind having one in addition to the S197 myself. Congrats!
