I am not ******* your mod so don't take it that way. What you did looks very clean. I am just saying I don't get the facination of adding one more step to starting your vehicle.

I am not criticizing, but honestly, what is the advantage of adding the push button start? As I understand it, the key has to be in and turned to on. Soooo, what is the benefit? If it is only for looks, that's cool. I am just curious.

I like the mod itself, really cool just wondering if it poses any theft issues. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that now all someone needs to do steal the car is, break the window, hit the button and drive off.

Not really adding another step....plus, I kinda thought the same thing before I did it, I mean why not just turn the key another half turn? But you just have to have it before you could understand that.
Its mostly for looks and cool points, and it really does look factory, but its pretty neat to hit that button and hear the car come alive.
Plus, you still have the other factory outlet in the console.

For those of us who are non smokers, and won't have a radar detector power cord dangling on our dash... it looks a lot cooler than either an empty hole or the words POWER POINT sprawled dead center on the instrument panel.
It's a functioning mod, so it serves more of a purpose than half the other stuff we do to improve the looks of the car. And, if it's wired right, you can use the key most of the time, and the button just for the cool factor to show someone.

www.50resto.com has the kits for 05 GT's and V6's. They include all wiring and detailed instructions. Install takes about an hour for a novice; if you know a lil bout wiring and have the right tools..less time.

Yup, that was me. Got the button from PepBoys and did the rest w/ scrap wiring I had from previous projects.

Also, these are not cheap aftermarket ignition switches like you see on the web or at an Autozone. They do light up at night, and look a lot more factory and flush with the bezel than other knock off's you might see. See the comparison picture below..(Not knocking on your install 05GT-OCD, just showing a comparison of how it covers the full bezel ring perfectly)

Hey somebody copied my mod! That's a Honda S2000 start button like the one I installed 3 months ago here:

Is somebody selling a kit for this car and button now? Should I get royalties? That's cool though, I just hope they didn't copy my instructions.
