05-09 gt exhaust >.<

Hey Guys I have a 2006 gt with a K&N CAI and flowmaster 40series mufflers. The sound is good, I like it but I want a deep deep sound. Something like magnaflow magnapacks, if any of you have magnapacks axlebacks I'd like to know how you like them and what set up you have. I want mine to sound like this. Maybe some LBs and an o/r h pipe with the magnapacks will work? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prCtZ...e_gdata_player

Hard to get the same sound out of a 4.6 as the 5.0. My Macs and Pypes mid mufflers have sounded great and always draw compliments. You tube is hard to get a good idea of TRUE sound. Hit some cruises or car shows for the real deal. LBs Im hoping you mean LTs as in long tubes. Which would make a big differance in sound for the better.

Where in So Cal? Im in Carlsbad. There are quite a few guys that hit the outlet mall on Sat mornings. From 7-9 IIRC. Or Irvine if your closer to LA. Check out socalstangs, blackmustangclub or wickedstangs, for some local So Cal clubs.

From what I have seen of Magnaflow, I do not think you will be happy. The regular Magnaflow is actually quieter than the stock mufflers. The Magnapacks sound very muffled....though their mufflers look nice

Like ETNOATs I agree the S197's will never sound the same as a 5.0 Foxbody. I know because I have both

Though I have to say my S197 doesn't sound too bad as I have tried my best to replicate the old muscle car sound that my 85 GT puts old. I have got the newer Flowmaster American Thunder Classic axlebacks, Pypes off road H pipe and JBA shorty headers and I have to say I am quite impressed with the sound.

Mac axlebacks also sound good too.....they are similar design muffler to Flowmasters. I would also suggest avoiding off road X pipes as they tend to sound very raspy, even though it seems like lots of guys run them. The stock mufflers sound surprisingly decent for OEM on the S197 though.

Hope this helps you out as I did a lot of research before I bought my exhaust as I wanted to make the right choice the first time around.
