Every race comes down to the most important mod,...the driver. Everyone with a quick car thinks they'll take another car but when it comes down to it between the boss an the gt,......whoever launches best is going to win.

60-120 would be interesting.

I'd say the Boss as it already has a "tune" and an "intake" but also adds a raft of additional internal go fast tweaks (ported heads, bigger valves, higher compression, hotter cams, etc.) The auto might make for easier and more consistent acceleration, but not necessarily faster in skilled hands.

For my first post here....
Coming from first hand experience... Depending on the setup of the stock GT.... whether 3.55:1 or 3.73:1 OEM rear .... and the driver being experienced.
The GT will take the Boss in a 1/4 or a long run, from a dig or a roll on the highway or track every time.
And once you setup the suspension properly on the GT. You'll also eat the Boss 302 on a road course.
Proven time and again against my buddy and his Boss 302.
Just Sayin.

The Boss 302 is a benchmark because of the tweaked Motor's forged internals...codenamed roadrunner and styling mods. It has lower torque rating at low RPMs and higher HP (slightly) at higher RPMs. And because the suspension mods allow for better handling, less dive and better damping. Which you would get from a track pack equipped GT. But the average GT already has a crank HP rating that is close to the Boss 302 and as we all know that's just a baseline. You could have a GT that puts out slightly more or less than that baseline as well as a Boss 302. So in terms of power both models are basically evenly matched. Its mostly a driver's duel or depending on the situation... it favors the GT since it pulls like crazy across a broader RPM band. The BOSS sweet spot is in the higher RPM band.
