Oh, I don't debate that people do it or that there's even trucks (like the Lightning) that are geared toward racing. It just seems weird to me that one would race a truck (which is little more than an implement for hauling things to me) over a car. I could race Vespa scooters too but I don't think I will...

If I knew of a Vespa that could run a low 14 or high 13 second quarter mile, I'd definitely race it

he he...that's the goal with my car...to make it look so intimidating that no one will want to try it...

To win a fight without fighting is the ultimate victory.

At Houston Raceway Park there is a Dodge diesel that runs 11's, has over 2000 lbs tq and you can hear the slicks wanting to break loose all the way throught the traps. I'm not talking some slick a stang or camaro runs, but top fuel looking ones!

You'll still get the occasional twit. Like the guy in the Cobalt SS supercharged who tried my Camaro with full boltons, obvious non stock rearend, loud *** exhaust and an exhaust lope that let everyone within a mile know there was a huge cam inside. There's no way he seriously thought he had any chance. It was like a moped pulling next to a Hyabusa.

Maybe he just wanted to hear your sweet sounding stang so he prompted you to floor it away from a traffic stop. At least that's what I would do in my Titan before I got myself my own stang.

There's ALWAYS someone faster. You'll get yours at some point, and then you'll be off spending money like a drunk sailor to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Don't know about that. I know I've pissed-off a number of S197 Mustang owners who "thought" their cars were "all that".

When the Titan came out, it was actually pretty fast for how huge it was.

I had a go with one. They are pretty good, but not as quick as they think.

If they are modified then we don't stand unless we have a S/C or something major installed. My brother-in-laws diesel is huge and he is running low 12's at the track with BFGoodrich all terain tires, toolbox in the back (loaded) and a huge floor jack. It is his daily driver and has over 700hp. I know I won't even try to race him.

It's not the horsepower you have to worry about in a diesel.
