05 V6, no question. You'll get the looks and 200 horses is still pretty powerful. Plus if you get a truck people will start to call and ask to borrow it. It kinda gets old after a while.
Yep. They do. Trust me.

Not that I mind.

Although I'm only 15 and already a Mustang fanatic (my brothers fault), I would have to say truck. Even with 200 horses the idea of a 6cyl Mustang makes me cringe.

Although not a Mustang where I live if you have a truck your set, and with a 5.4, even with the +weight your still going to move rather quickly.

Do what will work for you. I'm just have a little problem with anything thats not a V8.

right now, it looks like i might go with the 05 V6
and another reason im not going with a SN95 V8 is that even when i find one i like, the price is still perdy high, and its often a private seller who wont offer financing. financing is a MUST for us...
SN95 V8 has a high price? I'm selling my 95 GT 5-speed for $5,000. For a first car for someone in high school, well to me it sounds pretty awesome at a low price. B)

The '05 V6 is probably close to it in terms of power, but not torque or sound quality, and the '05 V6 is going to cost a LOT more.

In high school I had a 4-cyl Opel 4-speed, and I was happy to have it! If I were in high school now, I'd be ecstatic with a V6 manual tranny Mustang. Insurance will probably kill you with a V8.

we have been lookng around and i've found a few classic stangs tho

-theres a 67 302 coupe, not in the best of shape, for $5700 but the engine compartment was pretty clean

-theres a 65 303 for about $5800 OBO, but i dunno if its a coupe, or FB of vert, it was n the classifeids, might go n see it tomoro... i like this one cuz he sed he put in a CD player and some other goodies, n theres nothn in the 67. its totally in need of interior resto...

both are ATs turns out my car has to be AT now, cuz my mom needs to be able to drive it :bang:

overall, prospects are looking good, and i have all this week off so we might find s'more stuff. i cant wait

::drifts off to the dream he had about the red/gold GT350H::

Good luck with the search Arin, have you been looking for some Fox 5.0's, those are great IMO.

I voted for a truck. That's really low price, I never saw new F150 for under $20,000. Go with the truck.

yeah i've been looking all over for one. all the ones i find are either overpriced for their worth, are 4bangers or are just plain trashed

The new F-150, Arin find a wrecked one (minor front damage) at a auction and u will have a finished truck for 6k dollars after fixed. I rode in that one as stated and it rode awesome. even at 102, i felt as if i were flying in mid air, AWESOME expierence.

the search overall is ok. just cant find many good foxes. theres a '79 n the paper w/ a 5.0 AT for $3000, but i havent seen that one yet

i've narrowed it down to two after our first 3 days (plus we really cant afford one anyway until we get a new tennant for the upstaris part of our house, we have a condothingie)

1st place (so far):
maroon '67 coupe 289ci AT (C4) $6800 obo
the good: very clean, brand new interior, engine/tranny/carb rebuilt, engine compartment detailed, original engine/tranny new battery, new altenator, new radiator, 5 new tires, runs great, plates are still registered, wont have to pay registration until June, plates say "PONY67" , all the work was done by hi in his restoration shop, which has been in business for 22 years, so i know the work is done right.
the bad:
needs minor bodywork (the kinds of things you find on a 5 year old car, minor, as in quartersized, dents) missing some trim (ext only, int is perfect!), hood is not painted (brand new hood), no stereo/speakers

so far the good outweigh the bad on this one ^

2nd place (so far):
minerl grey (ish) 65 coupe. says 302 in ad, trim sed 289. AT $5800 obo
the good:
very clean, nice paint, weld wheels, 302 (so says the ad), CD player
the bad:
not too fond of the color, minor tear in driver seat, trim and engine dont match, havent heard it run yet, havent talked to the owner yet (saw it today while he was at work. he said go ahead n see it, but he wasnt there to answer any Q's), some ext trim needs replacment, dont know the quality of the workmanship, havent seen engine
this one has more "bad" than the first, but its alot better than the other junkers we found. the biggest "good" point for this car is the 302, but i havent heard it run yet so i dunno

if we dont fint anything else we'll probably go with the '67

im hopiung too. it seems likely, if they dont get boought by someone else. we have to wait about a month to rent out this section of our house. plus we owe the previous tennants some safety bonus thingie, $1500 so we have to come up with that PLUS another $1800 if we dont rent the place out by the end of the month. so it all depends.
also, i love these cars, but i've been looking hard to find an affordable '71-'73 stang with a 351 (C or W, i dont care anymore) nearby. easier said than done.

dude, "dude" is totally the most used word in my vocabulary dude.
duuuuuuude

yep, skimmed every mustang ad in Ca there was (iun my area) and if i didnt know the area, it was off to maps.com for directions i dont think skimmed is the right word. more like "exhumed every nook and cranny of the site for all worthwhile stangs"

this is what i do when im s'possed to be cleaning my room

heres some bookmarking material:

73 vert

65 coupe

67 coupe

these are either cheap, close or both
