Veyron Vs Mclaren F1
My Drafting teacher says the F1 is faster. he also said the F1 would kill it on a race track ( with right turns too) i dont think thats true, who's right?
Im at school right now so i gotta make it short!

Needs to be more Astony
I think it would really depend on the track.
heck a 60's mini cooper would kill a veyron in an autocross.
The Mclaren F1 is more of a race car and would prob beat a veyron in on some tracks but more open courses the bugatti would most likly win with its shear acceleration advantage.

Veyron has a higher top speed, and faster acceleration, but it's also alot heavier. It's not very good in turns, which is the main reason I believe that Bugatti doesnt loan a car to Top Gear to run on the track, it would come in like 5-6. The F1 would toast it on a track with turns.

Going to have to agree with the McLaren being the faster car in a race track setting. It is simply a more balanced machine and it has the racing wins to prove it. IMO, in the world of supercars, the Veyron would be akin to a muscle car - great in a straight line, but, not-so-great handling compared to its peers as a result of the car's weight and focus on top speed. I wonder how long it could last and how well it would place if a Veyron were prepped for a 24hr. enduro?

^^^ Pretty much true. The Veyron will beat the F1 in that department. Part of the question also involved comparing the two vehicles on a race course with a mix of corners and straights. The F1 would hand the Veyron its @$$ on a plate in this setting. IIRC, the Veyron will default from top speed configuration to a higher downforce setting if it detects too much steering angle as a safety measure. I don't think it will allow the user to resume the top-end mode after the car has "reset".

In a 200+ acceleration run the Bugatti would smoke the McLaren. The Bugatti can start at zero and the McLaren at 100 MPH and the Bugatti would beat it to 200+ (according to Top Gear), but as everyone else said on a road course the McLaren would probably overcome the acceleration advantage.

Agreed... with everyone pretty much.
In my mind i dont think the F1 is ever going to lose the title of greatest supercar. Pretty tough to trump, especially when considering the supercars of the day.
