U Were All Right
I should know!
I saw a bunch of sirens last night too, and an ambulance!

Well, I think if I had had this car when I was 16, I would most certainly be dead. Thank God it was only a wimpy 4-cylinder Nissan Sentra, which I beat the crap out of. Looking back at my own behavior, I am not gonna cast stones at this kid with any holier-than-thou messages. There are exceptions, for sure, but generally speaking, 16yo boys have little or no conception of their own mortality. They feel invincible and that it "won't happen to them". I place more fault with parents who are foolish enough to buy their children such a powerful car at a young age. I am also inclined to agree that the legal driving age should be raised.
Dude, just be careful, you are not invincible or immortal. Sooner or later you WILL wreck and it won't feel good. Don't learn the hard way like I did!

I don't think the age is entirely a problem, there are mature folk at that age (not that i was one of them)
I do think the driver's test should be harder though, so that whoever is driving, regardless of age, is actually good at it

How does the licensing work in some of the places you guys live? Here in Alberta you can get a learners at 14 and a regular license at 16, so by the time that people get their real license they usually have a decent amount of experience under the belt. After you get a license at 16 theres a 2 year graduated system where you cant drive certain hours, zero alcohol tolerance even if youre of age, and a 5 demerit max before your licesne gets suspended. I know its a bit off topic, but this thread is all about that now.

the 1st ticket i get...the mustang is gone unless its a parking ticket
I may be mistaken, but I think those are the condtions that his parents have decided for him to be allowed to drive the stang. If he gets a ticket, they take it away.
Thats how it was with me at least
