The Mustang fuel economy is the one listed on the last page of the order guide, that may be real numbers since Ford has had the test mules long enough to get a rather good estimate on the fuel economy.

You only pay the gas guzzler tax on the automatic in the GTO, not the manual. The auto is only a 4speed auto and is rated at 21mpg highway.
The 6 speed gear ratios listed for the GTO are correct. I see a big loss in rpm when shifting into 6th (I have a GTO).
Looking forward to the new GT. Will probably be getting a GT premium with my Xplan sometime in the spring.

Thankfully I could care less about mpg as long as I am enjoying the car. My 05 will be my daily driver. I think it will be fine with the 3:55 gears in it considering most of my driving will be highway.
