Passed Up '05 Mustang for '04 Cobra....

I actually did the above. I just could not see waiting for 2-3 years for a new Cobra, or SVT Mustang, just to get bells and whistle's of the '05 Mustang. I looked at the facts of why I like Mustangs. Well, interior build qualilty was not on the list, a more accuractely aligned exterior was not on the list.

What did make the list in my mind was a strong motor, strong transmission, and decent handling. Besides that, Ford has a $3000 rebate on the Cobra that made that much more appealing than waiting for an '05 Mustang right now.

All of you waiting for '05 Mustang's, enjoy. I'm sure within 3-4 years I trade off the Cobra for the newer SVT Mustang when Ford gets the SN197 Mustang details and enhancements sorted out.

Thats what I would have done. The 04 snake has so much power, not to mention sweet looks! What color, coupe or vert?

I bought mine (03 Cobra) a year ago, and am looking forward to driving it for 2 more years until the 07 Cobra is available. No regrets so far on my part in not waiting... the Cobra with its 390 hp and 390 torque just flat out rocks! Add an exhaust and cold air intake for just over $500, and you're up to 400 rwhp. WOW!

If your happy than you made the right decision. There are plenty of happy cobra guys over at SVT PERFORMANCE . If you haven't already been there you should definitely check it out. Ton of good info that will have you well on your way to some serious HP numbers. Many guys on that site handing it to everyone from ricers to vipers. Have fun......

Driving away after rebate and a little haggling with Tax Title License Etc, was $35600.00. I probably could have done a little better, but $3000 rebate was real easy, and since there won't be another SVT Mustang for at 2-3 years, I'm happy.

Be glad that you did not get the 05. They have recalled all v8 motors for the 2005 year. I wanted to pick up a 05 but I ran across a 03 with no miles and the ford dealership was giving a 8000.00 rebate to take it off their hands.

Ive got good news.

I just saved a lot on my insurance.

Congrats on the Cobra. So far Ive got mine up to 235rwhp and I want more! When I bought the car I thought it was perfect the way it was, but then I loved the speed so much that I wanted to get more out of it. have fun!
