you can't compare a $75k car to the mustang.

You got that right. The GT-R is in a whole different class of sports car!

The targeted competitor for the GT-R is the 911 Turbo S. The Mustang is in a whole other league than those two cars (NA V8/RWD/300 HP vs. twin turbo 6 cyl./AWD/480 HP)

Now, once you supercharge your Mustang, you will give him a heck of a run, and could even beat his GT-R with the Mustang!

I am sure the GT-R will have the ability to up the boost to 25psi or more safely... EVO-8 and 9's can get to 32psi+ of boost on stock motors and fuel upgrades... I am also sure the GT-R was designed and built with the idea that Toyota may respond with a new Supra! The old Supra's already making 1000RWHP on bone stock motors...

So accept the GT-R will be ridiculous.. LOL!

Edmunds has some video of the GT-R prototype along side a 911 turbo and they are saying it was a coupla ticks faster than the 911 turbo at Laguna Seca. A pretty good showing to say the least.

Agreed that the nissan is a whole different class of sports car. However, If I had the choice, I'd still take my "lowly little" V6 Mustang. A. I think it looks a million times better, and B. It's American.

I just kind of find it funny that the pictures that are taken are in the parking lot of a KFC and what looks like a convience store....not somewhere you'd normally see a $75K car, but where the a-typical ricer would hang out.

I agree Jeff! I'm kind of wondering where people are getting these comparisons. I mean I'm not trying to be rude people but let's try to keep the "which is better" section apples to apples here!

The mustangs an icon, not a status symbol. Big difference.

status symbol is like buying an expensive car to show off how much money you have.
