I think the GTA would take you...your 3.55s will not be enough...
Yeah well I was thinking that too until I rode in his car and it does not pull at all as much as my car. Maybe he has something wrong with his car? Who knows I will find out when we race on a private road.

lol, kinda funny. on tgo, a majority of people said the mustang would win. it seems like somethings going on with the trans, but more than likely its just me being kinda nuts about things. ive still gotta do suspension work on the car. oh, and the snow needs to dissapear too...
Tuning matters here as well, especially with a few mods, I notice you didn't really see anything on that. It also might be worth it to mention more about the exhaust than simply 'Flowaster mufflers'. For example if he's running a generic, 2-1/4" 'Mr. Muffler' exhaust with a couple Flowmaster three chambers hung on it and you're running 3" mandrel bent pipes with an x-pipe the fact that you are both running Flowmasters doesn't mean much. (are you both still running cats?) Also worth mentioning is the fact that shorty headers likely aren't doing much for your buddy compared to your long tubes.
If your car is in a better state of tune, this combined with your gears and and apparent advantage in terms of exhaust (due to your headers) could get you past him. But the auto is definately a handicap for you and if your mods are as close to equality as your intial post indicates I would guess he should be faster than you unless something is wrong with his car.

Well for the sake of Fords everywhere, I hope I'm wrong.... but I would put the money on the GTA from what you've described. Along with my '06 I have a '92 GT (vert) that I bought brand new years ago... it has BBK cai, BBK 70mm throttlebody, Edlebrock Performer RPM intake, full offroad exhaust, 3.73 gears, etc. Still stock cam and heads; stock AUTO transmission. My '92 with those mods and auto will get smoked by my buddies '89 GT, completely 100% stock with a 5 speed. The auto in these cars really kills performance, even with mods and gears.
On a related note, my '92 with the mods listed dyno'ed at 197 horse at the wheels. My '06 with intake, pullies, midpipe, gears, and tune dyno'ed 303 horse on the same dyno, same day!

yikes man...foxes are sloths...I didnt know that.
wow, that was kinda a low blow.
btw, to let ya know, im the person with the gta pats talking about racing.
the exhaust is stock, except for edelbrock shorty headers and a muffler. it has different manifold runners, a afpr set at the stock pressure, pulleys, and i still have to get under the car to figure out my gear ratio. oh, and an accel spark plug wire thats burnt through. the joy of buying a car that someone else has played with >_>

Um I think I would lose to a Shelby no question... why are you giving me a low blow now with that? I have not said anything since post 4 lol.
And to the guy that said the F body is a POS well, for some reason everyone has said that thing can beat my car and it is older, so it is not a POS. But the interior I can agree is not my taste. Sorry Mike
