Hah, got your attention But seriously, why not?

I was at the Chevy dealership last night looking at a new truck to pull the RV - prices are awesome right now. Of course, the new Vette was on the show room floor. The salesman asked if I liked the Vette and I said "Of course I like it. She's really nice, almost as pretty as my GT. The only thing wrong with it is the LS2 should be in my Mustang GT parked outside" He looked puzzled, looked outside and said "that is one beautiful car". Within 5 minutes all of the sales people and some of the customers were outside checking out the Stang. It was actually pretty funny. But I was really telling the truth! I would love to have the LS2 in the GT! Of course it would be more cost efficient to put a s/c on the 4.6, but wouldn't it be awesome

Imagine the LS2 modified to include a s/c in the GT! Wow

Why not put the Ls2 in a GT? I'll tell you why....cuz some of us are proud of how much power Ford is cranking out of the 4.6L and don't want Cootie infested Chevy parts in a Ford!

twoScoops123, "Cootie infested" - I like that one! I am also impressed with the 4.6 - I love my GT and am in no way knocking it But when I looked at the LS2 motor, which indeed is impressive regardless if it has cooties , I thought about how it would respond with a s/c and good exhaust. I miss the Deep, Deep rumble that you can only get out of a bigger block (i.e. the 426 Hemi, 429 Boss, 454 Chevy, 364 cubic inch LS2 etc.)

My Silverado has the 6.0 (regular) with the Magnaflow exhaust and sounds fantastic. I just love that Deep rumble

Hahaha yea....my friends GTO does have a nice low rumble....but then again I'm more than happy with the GT, especially with an exhaust thrown on there.

Guys...."Pistons is pistons".Unless we are talking about the one answer to Scott's urge, which would be "Shelby SVT GT 500". In that case ,why bother with an LS2.
LS7 might be a good answer also, but it doesn't come in an afordable steel wrapper yet.

Now be nice I am a Chevy man who also owns a Mustang GT - and I am NOT ashamed of it I am a Chevy truck man and I respectfully disagree that Chevy fans vouch that Ford is the best. I have owned Chevy trucks since 1988 and am a very happy customer - lost interest in cars. The Mustang (as far as cars go) has always had a special place in my heart (my highschool car was a 1969 Mustang Mach 1 with a 302 Boss blue printed and balanced with a Hurst 4 speed). Saw the new Mustang and was immediatley obsessed I agree Ford has an excellent truck, and IMO Dodge s ucks Not starting a war here on the forum, just telling the story at the dealership. In defense of Chevy Trucks, I prefer the comfort of the seats, interior layout and ride - plus Ford and Dodge diesels make enough noise to wake a hibernating bear. And --- bottom line for me as I just bought a new Mustang (i.e. follow the money ) I would like to see you purchase a new 2005 HD 3/4 ton Ford with a Diesel (loaded) for $32,000 (tough times for blue oval and the ribbon on trucks / suvs)

SHM offers a 6.0 liter conversion...for only $21,000 !!!! On the cheaper side you can get the 5.4 liter 500+ HP motor for only $19,000.00 installed...what a DEAL !!

PS...We use Chevy trucks at work...We can get the same model (approx) as a ford for 2/3 the price. I am a died in the wool Ford fanatic but when it comes to profit I go with the cheapest and most dependable. I fully understand. Ford offers very little for fleet truck purchasing....but if they did...we would use them instead.

Im my fathers experience, in the oil field (Kerr McGee Co.) For the past 25+ years, he has noted that the company vehicles that hold up the best to the demanding tasks of the oil fields are hands down Ford trucks. The heat (triple digits) the roads (dirt, caliche roads, mud, sand...etc.) the loads (loaded down with tool boxes...etc.) The Chevy's in his experience just dont hold up as well as the Fords do in every aspect.

Drivetrain, interior quality, overall toughness in a Ford is just better...

Thats why last year he bought a Ford F-150...

Ditto on that, from my father's days in the coal mine. The Ford's never had to be serviced as much. So to say I love Chevy's too, but there trannys w/ a turbo-cooler still burned up in the mine. Now Dodge....yeah, we won't even go there :P

My experiences were opposite with Ford. Raised on ranch and oil field land north of Cut Bank, Montana. We had 30,000 acres, 300 head of cattle, mules, quarter horses and, yes, one Jackasss (they are funny as heck and mean spririted) in prairie land with many coulees, rivers and gopher/badger holes. We had both Ford and Chevy trucks. Chevy's went on and on, however, the Ford suspension was always soft and broke often - thus we really did use the term Found On Road Dead. That was years ago. Ford has come along way and I give them credit where credit is do (best selling vehicle in the U.S.). However, still prefer the Chevy.

Now, back to the original intention of the post - wouldn't it be fun to have the LS2 in the GT? I think so

Interesting. Never thought about dropping two motors into it! One from an 03 Cobra, one from an 04 Cobra. Hmmmmmm. I guess I don't need a back seat or trunk space. Configuring the drive trains to accomodate might be interesting. Haha.

Along the lines of a motor swap...

I had a dream last night I took a late model F-body (Camaro/Firebird), took out the engine/trans, back seats, rear cargo area... basically everything from the front seats back and everything under the hood. Then I converted the hood area into a trunk, and dropped a V-12 Lambourgini motor into the rear area. How is THAT for an engine swap??!
