First of all, Welcome. Since you are used to the low end torque of a V8, I think you might not like the power band of the Z. Did you take for a drive yet?

Hello and Welcome.

Good luck with your decision. And yes, I would suspect some biased opinions.

The Z is a good car, but a diffferent beast the the Mustang. All depends on what you're after I suspect.

Car and Driver said between the 2 that the GT was a better car in all conditions. The IRS on the Z made no difference

I personally couldnt stand the way the cockpit was in the Z, looked at it when we first decided to buy me a new car. That, and it just didnt give me the feeling in my gut that the Mustang did when I first laid eyes on it.

what it comes down to is the mustang is faster, cheaper and its going to be able to be modded an gain alot of HP for not much cash.... now the 350z has a great interior IMO.. but i hate the exterior styling, i dont really like the way asian/japan imports look from the outside

Thank You Guys For the Welcome and the Quick Responses. Yes i did take it out for a test drive. It was different in the fact that i did not feel the "speed" if you will. I hit the gas and the next thing i know im doing 80MPH. I personaly like the extirior/interior styling. Any coments on lasting/problems, Between the 2. But most of all have you guys met any Z's on the street

Thanks GhostTX For the video..... I watched it and even though they said that the Mustang was the clear favorite they never really said nething bad about the 350Z. Just Curious. The mustang i ordered came to 28K and the Z i got a price of 32K for the touring model. Will wait for your responses ......thanks again

One guy here ran his GT against a friend's 350Z and said it was a close race but the GT edged it out. I like the 350Z a lot, especially the size of the car. I find the Mustang a little on the 9/8th's scale of what it should be... still it's a fantastic car and I'm glad to have bought one. The biggest drawback of the 350Z to me is the fact that it's around $10K (Canada) more expensive than the 'Stang so I couldn't have afforded one if I'd wanted one.

Compared to the Formula, the Mustang would feel more comfortable to you, I think.

my dad's got an 04 Z Roadster sitting in the garage, its handles very very nicely. The 3.5L V6 has its power but is not the kind of car that I would be driving everyday. Yea its a car that I would be driving once in a blue moon, its handles very nicely, sounds good, but the shifting on the Z is terrible, IMO, had a few times where the clutch was sticking or was coming off very slowly as if something was wedged in between the peddle with was not good, cause when I came to a red light i could smell the clutch, bad bad, plus my father has his Z in for the 4th time cause the convertible top bursted open on the highway, AGAIN,

In my honest opinion, the 350Z is a great car but is a lil too ricey for me, plus I raced my dad against his Z and i beat him by a long shot

I may be a little biased here but..... I would say stick with the Stang. The Z isn't a bad car at all but I think you're gonna miss that torque from a V8. Plus with the price being less for the Mustang I would say just wait it out and go with it. Just my .02

There's 5 pages of reading goodness at that link, too. Video was just a synapsis.

That "speed" feeling your missing is the torque. 274 compared to 320 in the 'Stang.

I met a 350Z on my way to work the other day, he was revving at the light, and when it turned green, i gave the stang enough gas to pace next to him (with plenty of pedal left) when the revs hit 4000 in first i hammered the throttle and ran away from him. we both gave a thumbs up at the next light, and went our seperate ways. I am sure the Z handles the corners very well also, but as far as acceleration i dont think even with an experianced driver that she could keep up with an 05 stang.

i saw one and i loved the high end styling, looks like something from Porsche (roadster) but the coupe is ugly. I think they are very ricerish, but they are respectable for their styling but not their motors.

Honestly I haven't heard that the 350z is having much luck at resale. My boss was looking at one but was turned off due to that.
