Heres a little question, preferably for guys that have driven both an '05 and a 03-04 Cobra. Which of the two handles better? There is a debate raging in the "Shelby CS6" thread of the 05 "V6 Performance" Forum, and the hypothetical proposed is "if you took the Cobras power advantage away, so the 05 V6 and the Cobra have identical power to weight ratios, which would lap faster on the track?"

There was a comparisson done with the '03 Cobra vs. the 2K Cobra R two years ago. The results were very close. I'll go with the Cobra.

I was the one who made that hypothetical statement
When I said it I was being broad and not really basing it on V6 or GT, but it doesn't really matter as it's only sway bars & rubber that differ the two. (handling wise)
here is the proposal.

Say you had the same power to weight ratio on the Cobra and the S197. The S197 has both it's sway bars, and just to make it even both cars are running the same type rubber.

Needs to be more Astony
Like George said it doesn't make any sense to take away different theings...if you went and even'd everything up they would be identical cars and would be pointless to compare.
The S197 Chassis is much better then the Sn95 chassis.
If you look at Grand Am the 2005 mustangs were much better then the 2003-04 Cobras.

The point is to discern which car has a better suspension.
The reason the 2005 mustang is doing so much better in Grand Am can be attributed to a weight and hp advantage given to it because it has a SRA. The Cobra has/had an IRS, so it had no such advantage.
I feel the Cobra's numerous suspension upgrades over a SN95 GT make it a better handler than the 05.
I understand there is no real value in comparing them, but if you visit last few pages of the the thread (its the Shelby V6 one) youll see why I created this thread.
