Ford better build the GT-R now because that thing looks like it will be freaking fast on the race track.

Kyle, I see your point, but I cannot see it beating the GTR totally. It might just edge it on the track, but the thing is not an attractive car (that rear wing is just ugly!)

I reckon the GTR will beat it is sales anyways.....

That looks like the new ALMS C6R most likely, not sure if the Mustang GT-R is really looking to compete with that, or in the AMLS at all for that fact, it will most likely be going against the Ferrari 575 and the Saleen S7 though, unless there is a Ford GT(40)R that I have not heard about?

did I miss something, I thought the there would never be a gt-r released for public purchase... unless they sell the NAIAS car. That car was specifically built to be shown as potential of aftermarket products on the 05 mustang.

I have a feeling that they're not even in the same league. That looks to be a scratch built race car, to succede the c5-r. The Mustang gt-r is no where near in the same league. The gtr is more of a club sport type racer, the c5r's are to compete in stuff like the lemans races and what not...

Ummm...you guys do know GTR....the yellow CONCEPT race stang was just that...a concept....its not even built on the 05 production Mustang..........its built off of the Mustang concept from over a year ago.Ford even said they built it show what COULD be done with its engine package and a normal race program. It will not see production in that form from Ford Motor Company.

The funny thing about this car is that I read on the forum that the C5R is actually faster than the new C6R. Chevrolet isn't very happy with the race team, as you might imagine

n00bs, we seasoned pros at this site already know about the GT-R being a concept. What I'm saying is that, if Ford is planning on racing the Mustang it will be based off the GT-R Concept. Thus, thinking logically Ford's new GT-R will have some competition. Think n00bs think. Ford and Chevy always fight for braging rights to well anything for that matter. For that reason Chevy races in tons of different races their Corvette (the one in question in those picks is Chevy's new C6 Corvette). Now Ford has always had the answer for Chevy's Covette with the Mustang when they race. That is where why I'm saying that Ford WILL need to worry about this new C6-R. Get my point now, n00bies? I'm just stating facts. Ford has always raced the Mustang and so has Chevy with their famed Corvette. So thinking logically you can put two and two together and come up with the assumsion that Ford has a REAL GT-R in the works. It may not be called the GT-R though. But it wont look too far in design from the concept GT-R. I'm I making sence to you people now?

BTW sorry about calling you guys n00bs, it's just I tend to call people n00bs if they aren't figuring out what I'm actually talking about. That's because lack of experience talking on this site. Which I'm sure you guys will do fine here. The only thing you guys have to remember is 'think outside the box' when it comes to things like this. Because literally anything can come out of it.

That would be pretty funny. I can just see Chevy's race when they found out the C6-R was slower.... I can see it now actually, in this order. :jedi:

hehehe

what does a honda mid engine race car have anything to do with a mustang concept car Something tells me whatever that thing is its half a million at least. I like drag racing, so wake me up when it beats John Force's Mustang. Anything that can not do 0-300 in under 5 seconds REALLY isnt THAT fast now, is it?

Oh, whatever. Like it matters on any race car other then what stickers they put on the side to tell you what it "is".

That may/may not be true. If you look at the SPEED GT series (and I know the series tries to keep the field competitive through weight penalties) the amount of HP does not always dictate on outright winner.
