Eric, at the end of the DUKES movie, you will see a montage of wrecks with the General Lee --- I suggest you leave before that starts LOL

would it be a show for a nine year old ?

Gotta go with the General. Granted the Bandit is one badarse looking car, but if im not mistaken that 6.6L is only making 175hp . Ill take a 426 or 440 Mopar over that wheezing piece of crap anyday.

Thats a Tough Call! I have Owned Both. I owned a 68,69 and 70 Charger in My Senior Year at High School. They were DIRT CHEAP back then. The 78 Trans Am I had in 1983. But I think My 71 440 Six Pak Challenger Looks Best out of all the Vintage Muscle cars I have had. I still have it BTW.

Wow. Talk about flashbacks.
I fell in love with the 71 Challenger in the movie "Vanishing Point".
Take good care of yours.

Back to the thread...
I gave Bandit a sympathy vote.
Buddy of mine had a '77 back in the day.
Couldn't keep it out of the shop for more than two weeks at a time.

A big reason why this is a dumb camparo, one is pre-EPA regulations the other is post. The emissions equipment of those days destroyed the souls of our precious muscle cars. I myself can't decide.

WOW. You had 1968, 1969 and 1970 Chargers AT THE SAME TIME? Do you still have either one of them? What was under the hood?

They Were All Original 383 cars. The 70 on the Right I owned four or Five times over the Years. It's Last engine was a 440 which Powered it to High 12's . I Originally Paid $160.00 Dollars for the Car in 1978. The Guy Said the Motor was Blown. I was Driving it The Same Day. I bought a lot of Cars like that. The Body had Bad Rust around The Back Window by the Last Time I owned it in the mid 90's I Pulled the Drivetrain which I still have and The Car was sold For Parts. I will always have a Soft Spot for These cars as My Parents used to buy a New Dodge every Year or So and we had a 67 Coronet R/T Vert, 69,70,71,and 73 Charger Untill They went away and Cordoba's With Fine Corinthian Leather came out. Thats when I started Driving Sheesh! I would Love to own another one if one came along. I do have a 74 with a Factory 440 but they are not the same car as the 68,69 and 70's were. And Ya it was way cool to Have Three at once.

I really think I would take the Trans am. But that news about it only making 175hp is a real let down. I think it was bc yall all grew up watching the Dukes while i never saw it. I know Smokey and the Bandit was before my time, ( Im 18) but i still love it. I just get chills when i see the bandit push the accelerator and leave the smokeys behind.
