Im in the market for a new car. And i am considering these cars.

IM looking for good handing, even though the mustang isnt known for its re nown handling, it is excluded from this catagory, but sure would like to see how it handles with this new suspension.

Power. 0-60 and 0-100+ and top speeds. The mustang pretty much has it on this round but idk the sti might give it a run for its money.

Interio- straight up looking for good material interios, nice comfy bucket seats.

Performance- Brakes, and stoping power, rim size/tire size. ect,

Gas mileage- Not a big issure ( to you guys but to me it is) but still just currious as to what is actual gas mileage, the sticker on the rx8 says 18 city but i hear about more then 90% of people on there forums say how bad the mileage is.

Durabilty- The rx8 is a rotatry so if anybody knows how a rotary holds up, in long term driving and reving up to 9k rpm!!!!!!! Also transmission and engine wear

Gotta be a Stick- How is the clutch, is it easy or is one of those clutchs that you will have one leg with huge calf muscles and the other with lil puney girl calf muscles lol jk, but ya how are the clutch's.

Thanks, feel free to post anything you have to say about these cars. Thanks ahead of time for the post guys.

Honestly, and don't flame me, if I had a choice of any of those four, I'd choose the WRX STi. It is a nice looking rally car that always catches my attention.

I'd go with the RX-8. If I wasn't such a Mustang freak that would be the car i'd have.

Go with what YOU want after driving/inspecting them up close. All are fine automobiles in their own right. The new '05 Stang is just an incredible update on our favorite ponycar. But the STi is incredibly awesome and has AWD and 4 doors, which is nice for a daily driver in the northern regions. G35 looks nice, but isn't that a two seater? RX-8 looks impressive as well. I'd say "screw it" and find a low mileage '75 AMC Pacer.

the sti is a piece of crap that probably wont last you as long, same with the rx-8. the G35 coupe is an amazing car. handle, looks, speed, refinement, it has it all. but i'd go with the mustang. with the money you save up from buying the G35 or the Sti you can buy some aftermarket parts for the stang (there will be thousands of them), and make your car a sweet sweet machine.

there's nothing like the beautiful rumble from the mustang exhaust. ehh, the fart out of the sti, not so good

if i had a choice, i wouldnt be driving a sentra. its a necessity, i have to get to school. the sentra was a car that costed me $500. if you ask me, that is one heck of a find.
of course my car is a piece of crap, and for the money tony montana wants to use on a car, the rx-8 and STi are pieces of crap also IMO. the RX-8 is a beautiful car, but it has a bunch of problems (go to their forums and see how many people have had engine flooding problems), the sti is a car that will get a lot of wear, and the ride is horrible, and the interior is crappy.
and if i was tony montana and had a choice between all four of these cars, i would either go with the mustang or G35.

but of course, this is just an opinion from a person that drives a sentra.

Ahhh, I was just messin' witcha zeppelin. I was in your position at one time (student with limited funds), so I realize that everyone can't have it all. Plus, I'm a little biased since I own a WRX. Best car I've ever owned. The only flaw I can find on these cars is the paint seems to be a little thin compared to that of the domestic cars that I usually buy.

you know how it is. can you donate your great pumpkin to a certain financially struggling student with a certain crappy car?

It also depends on your plans for the car. The sti probably has a lot of mods already out there and if you want a car for speed, but no interior comfort then go for that (also I'm pretty sure the sti has no radio in it stock). G35 is great if you are looking for luxery, great interior and good power. Mustang is the in between. Supposedly great interior and good power and will also have a lot of mods out soon. If you want the rx-8 just go for the G35 IMO. So luxery=g35, track car not a very good daily driver=sti, in between=stang. Of course I am pretty biased B)

For the money saved buying the stang couldn't you just put a blower on it do some suspension work and few other little mods and call it a day?

Having driven all of these cars aside from the new Stang. I can tell you that the Sti will by far walk any of these cars 0-100. After that most likely the Stang could catch it and by pass it. The G35 has probably the nicest interior as far as leather and all that, although in my opinion the new Stang's interior looks better. As far as handling goes, again Sti. Gas mileage depends on the driver, but probably a toss up between the G35C and the Stang. Now you also threw in the GTO into this mix. If your speaking of the upcoming 05 GTO w/400hp. Then it would be obviuos that the GTO should win in the 0-60, 0-100, oh heck 0-infinity. Mod wise, I'd say it would be a toss up between the Stang and GTO. Both are V8's and both have well known engines that have been around for sometime. The Sti has not been adapting to well to mods at all, not to say it doesn't at all, but it's whp gains vs an EVO are not comparable. So, as I see it. The list looks like this.

Speed
1) GTO or Sti (too close to call)
2) Mustang GT (very close 2nd)
3) G35 coupe
4) RX8

Interior
1) Mustang GT
2) G35 coupe
3) GTO
4) RX8
5) Sti

Looks
1) Mustang GT
2) G35 coupe
3) RX8
4) Sti or GTO (both are a little odd looking. GTO is too bland and the Sti has bug eyes....haha.

Gas mileage
1) Mustang GT or G35 coupe
2) GTO
3) Sti
4) RX8

Mod freindly
1) GTO or Mustang GT
2) Sti
3) G35 coupe
4) RX8

Overall winner
Mustang GT

This is just my 2 cents though. I'm currently an owner of a 2003 Maxima SE w/6spd. I've been an import fan, domestic car hater for years, but after seeing the 05 Stang and driving the GTO, I've come around. I love the Sti for it being awd and all, but the Stang is just too darn nice looking inside and out to deny. If I were to trade, hands down I would pick the Stang. Well, hope this helps your decision. Good luck.
