I know they are practically the same, but I would prefer the Montego. It looks Mercedes like but with Mercury badging. I especially like the LED taillights and the overall scheme of the Montego over the 500. Could have FORD made the badge on the trunk of the 500 and BIGGER? I can see it's a Ford from a 1.4 mile away!! What do you guys think though?

I like them both . . .but seeing that we (Fiancee) purchased a Five Hunded Limited . . .I think I'll pick the Ford.

And yeah, that badge is a little big!

I have to say the Mercury, since my first car was a 1973 Mercury Montego. 2 door, vinyl top, 351w which I blew up and we (my dad and me) found a 351c to put in. Me and my best friend did some work on it about a year later, valve job, headers, edelbrock manifold, holley 4bbl. Wasn't that fast since the car was so heavy, but it sounded mean Oh to be 18 again.

OK . . .but what if the Five Hundred was called 'Taurus'? They twins are much better cars than the outgoing Taurus/Sable (of which I like as well).

I will miss the Taurus name plate. My second car was a 1989 Taurus LX. I loved that car! But Ford had let the Taurus slip away while focusing on it's SUV's/Trucks. I'm glad they are refocusing on cars with the Fusion/Five Hundred (and their twins).

 

500 Limited

 

I like the 500 better. I saw a black one on the road the other day. They are sharp.

 

Yeah, I still have to go with the Montego, top line model to top line model, def Montego looks classier. Just my .02
