Here is something new for a change, 18 wheeler trucks. I went on the trip with my dad few weeks ago (he owns 2001 Freightliner Century), I saw many cool trucks, and I gotta say that the Peterbuilts are the best. Best design and best sound of engine. Volvo, for example is very quiet, but Peterbuilt have really cool sound of engine.

Family is into and drives trucks, Internationals are junk, all sorts of issues with INTERNATIONAL motor, but if they have a CAT or CUMMINS or suttin they are gr8. Uncle has a 525hp Town Plow it is a 03 International 7600, has tons of power but it has a electronic auto/standard tranny where u can press a button to shift or put it in auto and the truck ripps but the tranny stinks. His favorite and grnadfathers and cousins all LOVE the FORD and Sterlings, Ford L series is their favorite.

I have heard from everyone Ford and Sterling (the newer Fords name) are the best, good visibility and such. I love the Freightliners and KWs and Peterbuilts but Ford man forever.

I think (almost 100% sure) Sterling is now owned by D/C . . . . but not quite 100% positive.

Almost picked Mac because of the groovy bull dog hood ornament but peterbuilts were what I always dug when I was a wee lad growing up in a logging town.

Depends what kind of Freightliner because they're not all the same. Classic/Classic XL is probably one of the best, but Century Class is not great. My dad have 2001 Century Class with 500 hp Detroit engine and currently with 530,000 miles. No problems so far (he bought it last summer with 490,000 miles).

you are correct, back in 98 or so Daimler Chrysler bought out FORDs semi truck line but kept FORDs styling for the Sterlings. Very Sweet Trucks. Ever see a Mack Vision, they are NICE!!!

Sweden

What most truck drivers like about Volvo is the fact that its very quiet. It may not sound like big deal, but when you're in truck 24/7 it is a big deal. Last time I went to the trip with my dad it was for 5 days, and by the day 3 trucks noise was driving me crazy.
