E92 bmw M3 vs. PJ Saleen Mustang

hello all.
i just received the March 07 issue of MotorTrend and they have pics of the new E92 M3 coupe. 4.0L V8 pushing 410HP.

Being a former owner of a E46 M3, i must say that the E92 does not look that great at all. The E46 M3 looks way more stout and muscular. The E92 M3 looks a bit feminine and way too sleek. The flared fenders are not pronounced enough either.

In the same March '07 Motortrend, they have an article of the PJ Saleen.

the PJ Saleen is prices at $60K and i think the E92 M3 is going to close to $60K+.

Opinions? I guess I'm bias...PJ saleen mustang all the way for me!

I LOVE the way the PJ looks... sans the chrome accents
I would take the PJ as well.

That seems like kinda weak numbers for a $60k saleen. I dont know much about the pj though, there better be a lot done to it for that kinda markup with only a marginal power boost.

its not all about speed for the PJ.
only 500 are being made. so very rare.
this will be the true collectors car 20 yrs from now.

its Naturally aspirated 5.0L V8 to get 400hp.

so that is very desirable. instant throttle response.

I put zero cred in any review of a Mustang's performance unless its done by MM&FF. I agree on the looks, the last generation of M3 was a beautiful car and the last one to be ruined by Bangle. The Z8 and M3 will go down as the last of the good looking BMW's.

Yeah, and I don't believe anything about washing machines unless I read it in Maytag Monthly.

Either the PJ is alot heavier than a stock Mustang GT, or the Motortrend drivers aren't very good, cause the 100hp more than a stock Mustang GT should make it be in the mid-12's. There is people on this forum who could match Motortrends PJ 1/4 Mile Time with an Intake,Tuner, and Gears,or maybe just Intake & Tune on their S197 Mustang GT.

Saleen proclaims that the PJ Saleen does the quarter in 12.5. It was stated in this months issue of Modified Mustangs! I would deff get the PJ Saleen over the new M3. Not just becasue i am a current mustang owner or live for mustangs, just becasue it looks sweet as hell and it is a 1 of 500 car, so it will be worth it down the road. Just my 2 cents!

The 12.5 is ALOT of an improvement over the 13.3 posted earlier in this thread. It is probably cause motortrend has sucky drivers.

They must of spilled hot coffee on their pants when they launched the car at the dragstrip.

Also, I guessed that the PJ should be in the mid 12's, and I was right cause ModifiedMustangs 12.5 for the PJ, so I am pretty smart about cars huh?
