Challenger Vs. Camaro
Just wanted to know which one you guys liked most... I've noticed that most people on this board like the Challenger more, but I just checked the results at the Autoblog.com site, and the Camaro is on top. Could our love for Ford, and our inherited hate for Chevrolet cloud our reasoning?
I like the Challenger best
but the more I look at the Camaro, the more it grows on me

The rear of the challenger is a big downside. Other than that it weighs 4100 lbs. It's a piggy. As of now we don't have any numbers on the new Maro but my guess is it will be around the Mustang's weight. Looks alone, I still think the maro looks better.
I like the camaro bettter, but it does kind of look like a nissan skyline somehow.
the dodge is a pig, and looks like they just grab the old matresses and put them back in the building.
the camaro on the other hand is more like our cars, it looks like the original camaro, but you can tell it is a new design.
if they make a convertible, it is going to look sick.
I wish they can put it to production before the company dies...
I also like the dodge, but much more the camaro.
it would go like this for me:
1st mustang
2nd camaro
3rd challenger
4th citroen 2CV

I like the Dodge, but compared to the Camaro, it just pales in aggressiveness that the Chevy has. Another reason why I chose the latter is because of the fact that it might be similar in weight, size, and possibly price to the Mustang. I just don't think that DC will make it even close due to the platform it shares its other cars with.
initially i loved the Chally, i still like it and all, but i mean, 'cmon, it ways in excess of two tons. arins not a happy camper with that, even if they get the 6.1L in it...
the Camaro tho, well what can i say, i am impressed!!! it looks pretty sleek, and still nice and edgy too. i really, really like it. its plenty agressive, and as long as it doesnt turn out to way 1000 # more than it needs to, and has a decent mill under the hoof (which it will lol) then its going to be my favey.
i'd be hard pressed to choose between one of these and a similarly equiped 05-06...

I'm more into the Musclecar looks of the Challenger vs. the European sports car look of the Camaro. Just my opinion. I know its heavier, but honestly, I like the overall design better and I think it is closer to reality than the Camaro too.
The poll at Autoblog.com is over and the Challenger won by a slim margin (51 % vs. the Camaro's 49 %).
I personally prefer the Challenger because 1) it's closer to the cars of the muscle car era, as far as dimensions and looks are concerned and 2) it's so close already to a production car and yet it still looks gorgeous.
I like the Camaro as well, but as someone else already said, it's just a (pure) concept, basically an exercise in style and I think people need to wait until they can see what the production car will look like; it's my bet it won't look like this, I feel it will be toned down quite a lot.
Also, about the weight of the Challenger concept...I saw on a forum (I forget if it was any of the Challenger forums or the Z28 forum) a pic of the door label on the door and it mentions the weight at 4160 lbs. (or 1888 kg for the metric fans).
So, for the moment, the Challenger is not a lightweight, but I hope they will put it on a diet for production, to make it go at least in the 3800-3900 lbs. range...
But even if they don't, I still like it a LOT.

The dead front end view of the Camaro to me isn't that cool, but from this above angle it looks awesome. I like the Challenger quite well also. These are both very worthy competitors for the Mustang and I fear that we'll have a replay of what we've seen in the past. These cars will not outsell the Mustang, but both companies have bigger guns in their arsenols. Ford better bring along the 5.4 and the 6.1 quickly. I fear our lunches are about to be eaten (excluding GT500 of course).
Just on looks alone, I'd choose the challenger over the camaro. I don't hate GM at all and don't really have a brand bias.
Still I think people will gravitate to the Mustang GT if they are in the market, because of the price. $25k+ for Mustang GT and probably $35k+ for the other two. Someone told me the Camaro will have a base price of ~28 grand, wonder if that will be for the V6...

After giving this a real hard thought i chose the camaro.
reasons why...
1.) Dodge put absoluly no creativity into the design of the challenger...they just made a 1970 challenger body fit a current platform. The camaro on the other represents a 1969 camaro nicely but when you look at it, it looks like it belongs in 2006.
2.)Based on the cars the Dodge is built from i have would have to say that it will be atleast 4000 lbs. I am not familar with the platform the camaro is built but i would think it should come under 4000lbs.

It's a difficult choice since both look excellent. The Challenger's interior has the edge. The Camaro's exterior design looks very elegant and but too European for my taste. My preference has always been the muscle car so I picked the Challanger.
The camaro looks like something strait outta nissan, i absoloutly hate the thing. The challenger is the complete opposite, its good looking and has the ***** to back it up. Plus, that butterfly ram air hood kicks butt, its a helluva alot better then the camaro by far, hands down my vote goes strait to the challenger.
I like the Camaro better, because IMO, its a modern interpretation on a classic design. The challenger looks too much like the original. The camro is very aggressive, and I really like the lines.
I'm really surprised the Camaro's doing this well. The Challenger looks like good ole American Muscle Car Iron. The Camaro looks like it's ready for the Fast and the Furious 3. The front wheels are too far forward, reminding me of a Civic, the rocker moldings look like something off an Acura, and the vents in front of the rear tires... well I just don't understand those. I also don't like the pointy nose. My Grandma had a Skylark once, the pointy nose looked bad on that car too. Steve McQueen would drive the Challenger. Save the Camaro for Vin Diesel.
Oh, I voted for the Challenger.
