Yeah, WalMart, Camaros, and mullets all go together!

Walmart, Home Depot, Acme, Lowes, any mall....
All "no fly" zones for my car. If you want to subject your ride to that, you need to be prepared for things like this. These shopping zones attract all and every kind there is out there. Theres sure to be some j ackazz that will take their car and put it next to yours simply because you parked FAR away.

truth is they are thinking the same way I, along with some other people in this thread are. I try parking next to the nicests cars I could because I would think, the people gettin in the nice car wouldnt want to get their doors checked as well and are very protective getting in and out of their car.
He/She, as well as you dont want your doors to get messed up with dings, so parking next to you(since were all **** about our cars) would also make him happy since he knows ur not gonna hit him and vice versa

I think it's a thing were they see the car sitting in the distance and want to get a closer look. After they see what it is and drool for a bit.
They put the car in park instead of driving around looking for another spot. Now they see the Nice
looking ride on there way back to the car if it's still sitting there.

I used to think all of you were egotistical idiots for parking your "precious" cars way out there. Now that I have become an idiot myself, I want to park nearby because you are less likely to mess up my precious car. As we become older, hopefully we become wiser.

Or maybe muscle cars want to hang out with other muscle cars
. Would you rather have a lowered, big wing, big muffler honda next to your car or another muscle car?

Hey Dallas, nice '68, I've got a 69 convert. but not as built as yours, it's just a stock 327...
Most people that take pride in there ride like to find another car that they know won't ding ther doors when they park .
you should see the back part of our work parking lot ,it really has turned into the toy section lately B)

Why do they park next to 05's? For the same reason you'd sit next to a pretty girl when there were plenty of other seats open.
I know, I used to do it myself with my truck, before I read on here how annoying it was. :-)

I park my '73 beater Duster in the smallest spot closest to the store....lol. And the funny thing is....darn car never gets dinged!! Figure that one out and i'll give you a prize.
....but i park my truck away from everyone. If i see a nice car, i don't go too close to it.

Hello. WalMart Associate here. How may I help you?
Yes I work at walmart & NO I do NOT nor have I ever owned a Camero.
Just had to set the record straight.
Now Back on topic
The mustang is like a magnet.
People can't stay away.
Even if nobody parks next to you they are stopping by coming in and out of the parking lot to check it out.
I shop at Wallymart. Nobody has better prices on ammo and yard stuff.
You have to be careful though, even in BFE.
Went into Home Depot once, came out and had a vette, mercedes, and a beemer by me. That says someting about the stature of this car.

Yeah, if it were a crowded parking lot, and I had the choice of parking next to a beater or nice cars, I'm taking the nice cars. BUT, if there are plenty of spaces in BFE, I'm not going to pick one next to someone else that decided to park in BFE

this would be fine, if it were a crowded parking lot and there were very few spaces, I think the original poster is saying, why not park in your "own" BFE, instead of right next to me?????

As for the protection comment, I've never thought of it as such. That may be the case, but I have to say that it probably offends more than it assures. To me... I can't tell the door dingers from the protectors. I check the side of my car every time to see if someone opened up on me. I pitty the poor fool on the day that I walk out to my car, they are still parked 2" from my door, and I find a ding.
The reason people park out there is to either A- Show off, or B- for piece of mind. Either way... just let em be. If you want to take a look... do a drive by. Heck... stop, get out and pear in if you want. Just don't park on top of the car. Being in BFE all by myself is the only protection I need in the concrete jungle. <_<

I have started parking next to the lil concrete islands that denote the end of the parking lot section... and I park as close as I can.. that way there is plenty of space between my door and the line...

Since day ONE with my car, I became KING of the 'Park in the corner spot'......
It is a RARE instance I EVER park in a spot with cars on both sides of me.
I find the corner and back it in.
Funny thing too - I'd say my ratio before was 70/30 (back-in parking vs. nose-in). Now it is 99% back in.... The CDC chin spoiler is not as low as I thought it would be and WILL clear many of the concrete curbs out there in a parking lot.... but before I knew that, I spent the three weeks before install practicing NOT pulling all the way into a space or parking too far up, JUST so I wouldn't brainfart and mess up my Pony's nose....
Always safer just to back it in though.... and show off the goods....
