C7 Vette vs S550 Mustang

So the new C7 is gonna weigh roughly 34xx and the stang is going to lose some weight plus gain IRS. Does anyone think the mustang could come close to corvette performance.

Itd be hard to say at the moment. Ill admit the new vette is an absolute animal in so many aspects. Its a completely new car pretty much. New interior, radical design, jawdroppin performance. Theyre both in different classes as well but it would be an interesting matchup. Ford needs to bring back the GT so they can finally compete woth the vette and viper on their own turf. I mean we have the Fiesta dominating the hatches, Mustang is still pony car king, but we need near supercar territory material.

Another GT would be cool, but I don't know if it should be a regular production car. I'd like to see a two-seater called Cobra though as a regular production Corvette/Viper fighter.

Ideally for me it would be nice to see a domestic mid-engine car but traditionally this layout hasn't faired to well in the US although something that can trace its lineage to the GT might do better.

Base vette vs the GT.

Both should be around 34xx lbs and have 420+ HP.

I know the Vette is in a different league but I wanna see how the Mustang stacks up.

I would love a new GT to battle the Vette /Viper but I doubt it will happen.

I know the vette would kill in the handling department, especially if its equipped with the magnetic ride control. But straight line they launch ahead of the 13 gt500, but only till around 100moh. By then the snake is comin up fast and zooms by. But then again it needs the massive hp to make up for the weight difference

I passed a new C7 on the hwy last night... Ugh.. so cool looking! Id give it to the Chevy on this one though. Corvettes are always fast... base C7 vs GT, C7 all day.

C7 is a whole different class car.

Its almost like comparing a GT500 to an Audi R8.

Sure the GT500 is faster, but which one will THE MAJORITY of people rather have?
