Sort of, but the Corvette has ALWAYS had a very large blue collar following. It really wasn't until the C4 that the Corvette was really upgraded and positioned to be a high brow sports car, or white collar car as you say.

I agree. Even today, I think the majority of Corvette owners are what most of us would think of as blue collar. Not executives. These are people who are either older, and have saved money for a long time, or they work in the technology sector and make enough money to buy a Vette. All of the truly "white collar" people I know drive BMW's and Porsche's.

There have been many occasions when I have considered getting a C5 (probably a Z06) just for a change in pace. I like Mustangs, but I have had seven of them now. Bang for the buck, the C5 is actually quite a good deal.
