Unhappy

Sure everyone loves the Mustang sound but the last time I heard a GT was on my test drive 3 months ago... and even then I didn't get to really to punch-it. Ok so Ford is now paying close attention to the tone and volume, how good is it?

I've read the same as all of you folks and know it sounds good but I want to know how likely I am to leave it stock after driving it for a few weeks or months. I don't have it yet but mine is an automatic. I expect to be doing a lot of accelerating and up-shifting to slow down... I love good volume, tone, and burgle (I think that's the term for the pop, pop, grrrrr, pop when you let off the gas or up-shift), but I don't wanna growl the neighbors awake everytime I go by in the middle of the night.

I welcome your opinions folks!

I have actually set aside some cash to modify the exhaust, but depending on what ya'll say I might just invest it in a gasoline fund. It's kind of like a 401k but more "short term" and designed simply to help you get from point A to point B. Man I would go to crazy places like the store, work, back home, work, the mall, etc. And then, if I threw-in my tax return I might even drive aimlessly for hours on end just enjoying the ride

I changed it before I picked the car up.

Listened to Dan stock 05.
Sounds good, but no way would I go back to stock....

From what you described that you like, I think you'll be modifying yours. The exhaust sounds decent for stock, but you can just barely hear it from the inside.
I had gotten used to my MagnaPacks on my '03 so the stock mufflers are too quiet. Granted they are louder than the '03 when it was stock and probably as loud, if not louder than a stock 5.0... if you could find one to listen to for comparison.
I've heard the new MagnaFlows and they're terrible, IMO. I don't think I've heard MagnaPacks, yet, but so far, the Flowmasters sound the best. I never thought I'd say that either. I thought the Flowmasters sounded awful on the 96-04's.

You forgot the option on your poll of keeping it stock. That's what I am doing.

Best stock sound of any mustang I've heard. That being said, listened to Pete's car, put a set of Borla axle-backs on my car and now I CAN NEVER go back.

The stock exhaust is good but only loud under hard acceleration. I changed to the Bassani axle-backs and from what you described, I think these should provide the sound you are looking for.
