As much as I love the '05 GT, I had to vote for you to keep the Cobra.

OK, let me modify the question a little bit. I have the opportunity to buy either an 03 Cobra vert with about 2k miles on it or a new 05 GT vert with manual transmission for about the same price.

Which would you get?

 

05 in a heartbeat. The styling is better and overall I feel it's a much better car. But then, I'm not a track guy so the extra hp of the Cobra doesn't mean much to me.

If I had an 03 Cobra though I sure wouldn't trade it in now. The depreciation will kill you.

 

With the vert, I think the new design loses much of any improvements it has. The coupe has the roofline, the vert doesn't. So when it comes to styling, a subjective measure, it's a draw in my book.

So let's take that out of the equation.

 

I would keep the Cobra. It's a 10th Anniversary and to me I like the looks of the Cobra better than the 05's. Sorry 05 owners. The 05's are more retro but the 99-04's are just plain mean looking

 

Thing is the new vert is going for around $31K. That's also what these low mileage Cobra verts are going for. Availability is a whole other question.

 

COBRA, more power, better looking, more comfortable, more feared on the streeets

 

As much as I love the '05, I voted to keep the Cobra. I've often wondered how nice it would be to have the '04 Cobra mill in the '05. I feel this would be the best of both worlds. You have the greatness of the '05 with the powerplant of an undisputed winner on the road.

I would love to make this swap.

 

i thought the same thing, but the terminator is SOOO much better looking then the 05 imo that i'd just keep a cobra instead of swapping powerplants into an 05

Dumb question. The 05 doesn't even compare. In Looks or performance.

 

IMO, 99-04s are the best looking. They look a poop-load more aggressive than the 05+. Don't get me wrong, the 05 is sweet as all heck, but I'm just more of a fan of the 99-04s. I just wish we had the 05's technology...
