03' 350Z vs 12' Mustang GT
Ok im finally picking up my new 12' Mustang GT with 3.73 gears tomorrow, and a friend of mine bought an 03' 350Z with a 65mm turbo in it and about $12k(including the turbo) worth of modifications done to the engine. He says he thinks he pushing close to 400whp in his car.
Which car do you think would win? Honestly i think his car would win but i really don't know for sure. I'm asking about both the 1/4 mile track and an normal track.
*edit* oh both of our cars are manuals.

Drivers race.
It always is really with a Manual. If either of you guys mess up the take off, or miss one shift while the other runs it clean, the clean driver will win with cars decently matched like that.

I say the 350 wins if it's close to 400hp like you are saying it is plus it's lighter.. It will prob be a good race but I think it will have you 3 out 5 times

Ive always been a Z and Mustang and even G series guy. If i dont like the way the 15 turns out, a next gen Z is definitely on the list

The overall high end push of the 5.0 should carry you stronger in the high rpm range at the tail end of the quarter.
You should be able to win this near the end....try not to wheel spin the start, and after you finish second gear, 3rd and 4th should be your peak power to win.
Let us know, will be interesting.

something tells me the guy with the Z has done some passes before... if he's the one inviting you to track events, challenging you to races.. etc. He might be a decent driver.

Ok he has never been to any legal 1/4 races... he has done some street racing(light to light stuff) but nothing serious or anything that has actually been timed. and he is only running his turbo @ 10psi because he doesn't have the money to fix his engine if it breaks.
