Hey Everybody,

If anybody needs to know any information from a Ford Dealer, I am the one to ask!

For Example

What is a Dora?
Allocation?
Commodity Controls?
etc...

Don't bother getting into a conversation with some people on this site, Lance.

It's nice to have you volunteer to answer some questions for us.

Nice White GT!

Lance: I have some questions on allocation.
1.. Is dealer allocation set up at the beginning of the model year, or does it change monthly?
2. If it changes, are allocation sheets updated monthly/weekly, etc?
3. If possible, could you post an example of an allocation sheet so that those of us who are not familiar with them, will recognise them if we see them?
4. Is there anyway for us to find out which dealers have what amount of Mustang allocations?

I ordered an 05, but am still C/U since December. If I have to order an 06, I want to be able to identify a dealer with enough allocation. Fool me once....

Thank you.

Owen: Dude, you beat me to the punch. Don't think I could have asked better questions.

Lance: Thanks for volunteering the information! I'm (planning) on ordering my GT Coupe on March 18th.

Hi Lance, can we use the 1-800 # to track our vehicles being shipped to Canada?

The dealer code on my paperwork has two letters and four numbers and is not recognized by the system.

In answer to Owen:

Allocation is set per Allocation Program period. It is usually monthly except for holidays (November and December were together), Balance-out and Start-up.
The next Allocation Program will be for May production. The following Program will be '05 Balance-out covering June and July production. The Program after that will be '06 Start-up covering August and September production.

Allocation is a contract between Ford and the dealer. With a few rare exceptions, it does not change during the program period. However with Mustang, Commodities have been changing during the period. GT and IUP availability can change based on Ford of Canada's overall mix, or plant capabilities.

As a confidential contract between Ford and the dealer, Allocation is not published anywhere. What you see mentioned on these boards is usually Commodities (for April - GT-20%, IUP-50% or Convertible-40%), but they are general across Canada and may or may not apply to an individual dealers situation.

The only way to know a dealer's Allocation is to ask the dealer. In general, the larger volume dealers get more (turn and earn), but allocation is only one factor involved in getting a car built. Others are number of current sold orders, equipment ordered and sometimes the price paid.

Allocation and Commodities are so much better in Canada. Because of our relatively small overall market size, we normally do not have the restrictions like the U.S., so there is no comparison.

It's nice to have both Lance and Steve as contributors to this site. I don't know Steve, but he seems an upright salesman, as is Lance.

So, that means Hamilton and Mississauga Mustang buyers are served well.

As for that White GT, I have no idea whose it could be....

Lance, thanks for the information. It is good that this site has people on the inside that can clear up issues, there is a lot of rumors out there.

I'm originally from St.Catharines....
The Donut(Doughnut) capital of the world....yes its a FACT.

I think if you can't find a Timmy's within 50 seconds, you can sue the city.

Some places have 2 Tim's on opposite corners....
thats a little rediculous!
