2008 GT500KR on order now!

We were informed today that we have won the GT500KR Lotto and have been allocated one of the only 1,000 cars to be built. I'm a very excited East Texas Dealer!

I ordered it in Silver w/ the Blue stripes. Shaker 1000 Stereo instead of the Navigation.

Hey dude, I would SERIOUSLY remove the Shaker 1000 from the order. The percentage of GT500's with this is small. More cars have the navigation than this. When I order Mustangs for my dealer, I NEVER add the 1000 watt system, as it really kills the trunk space of the car. I would put the navigation on the car before the Shaker 1000.

They way I look at it, people who buy this car will do one of two things with it; store it and never drive it, or drive it on weekends to local car shows and cruise nights, and enjoy it. If the buyer is the latter (which alot of GT500 buyers are), they will want all the trunk space they can get, to store detail supplies, chairs, canopy tent, memorabilia from the car, etc, when they go to a show. Just a tip.

Oh, and just curious, what is the markup going to be on this car?

If I was buying the car ... I wouldn't want factory Navigation because there is much nicer aftermarket Double-Din systems out there. I wouldn't order the 1000 either because no aftermarket systems can use the rear subwoofer.

I'd rather have a Shaker 500 ... put the Shaker Head Unit on a shelf after I got the car .. and install a nice Pioneer, Eclicpse, Kenwood, JVC, etc ... Nav/DVD system that integrates with the 500 subwoofers.

Congrats on the the KR ... so is the owner keeping the car or is it for sale?

^I would do that as well with the stereo system. I can't wait to see some pictures when it comes in.

If you have the coin to buy this car, it really won't matter what options it has or does not have. You can easily afford to pay for more added or removed. Something like the stereo or navigation system would definitely not sway me one way or another from purchasing the car. Just my thoughts.

And it usually doesn't on this car, but when it comes to the Shaker 1000, its just useless when you need to actually use the trunk to put items in there like a suitcase, or other things. Only time I ever ordered it on a car was back in 2004, when a customer wanted a loaded TR GT Coupe with red interior and all options.

Well me, I'm going to put in a custom system anyway, in the front of the trunk, instead of the side.

I can't imagine customizing anything on this car. Our allocation will be one of the first 100...possibly top 50 made. I've had the 'rights' to this car for 24 hours and have just put it on ebay. I have already been offered $50k over....holy cow!

Good for you putting it on ebay with a bid for the "right to buy the car."

Stuff like that makes me sick!

You can count on me buying a 2009 Corvette ZR1 for less money before I put a bid on that car at $50k over.

Why would you select your customers options???

Why would you select your customer’s options rather than let them order this very special car exactly as they want it?

I really don’t understand why any new car dealership assumes the chance to buy a mis-configured Special Edition Mustang will bring a higher sales price than the ultimate chance to order a very unique Special Edition Mustang exactly to the buyers personal specification will?

Anyone spending this kind of money on a Mustang is buying a very expensive toy. I am quite sure most buyers are going to want it with their own particular options.

I spend a lot of money on what I want, I rarely spend any money on things I don’t want, or more precisely, I won’t spend that kind of money on a car that is not exactly like I want it. If I were unable to order my GT500 exactly as I wanted it, I would have gone without, PERIOD.

As to which options you should try to guess your buyer would prefer, I too think the Shaker 1000 and the factory navigation are a waste of money and space. I would never want either of them on my GT500. I will not be driving my GT500 any place where I will need a GPS. The Shaker 500 is plenty sound system for my needs and I much prefer my trunk space.

There is a dealer here in the Chicagoland area that had an $8000.00 markup on a SGT. That car sat at the dealership for a year. Now they are selling it at sticker. They now have 08 SGTs and they are selling them with the same markup. I hate ADMs.

One question? Are you going to post on here as a friendly person who wants to chat Mustangs with all the kind people on this site, or did you only post up to use the site for monetary gains? Just curious?
