Watkins Glen HPDE video

Re-post. 1-lap video of my 2005 Mustang GT at Watkins Glen, July 13, 2009. This was my third HPDE event in three years - the first two were at Lime Rock and Loudon NH. All three events were incredibly fun, but Watkins Glen is by far the best track of the three. We had five 30-minute track sessions, which is about 50 laps around the 3.4 mile track. Attached is a pic of the track configuration - at Turn 2 entering the "Esses" I was about 90 mph and it was full throttle from this point to the end of the back straight at the "Bus Stop" where I braked hard from about 130 mph. It was quite a ride!

Sweet!
I'm going to try to get out to The Glen next year for some Koni Challenge/Mustang Challenge action...

WG is one of the best & fastest track events I have ever attended. I was there with some friends that ran with COM (Corvette Owners of Mass.). That was the event that made the nice red powdercoat on my Bullitt brake claipers turn to more of a brown color. Needless to say, there is some serious braking done on this track. There are multiple instances of braking from tripple-digit speeds.
Am I reading this right that you ran this event on Hawk HPS pads?? I am real surprised you did not have total pad failure and wind up in the (many) gravel traps. When I ran there I was using HP+ pads with cooling ducts, and it still was not enough. I have since changed to running Hawk DTC-60 pads for the track. It's more of a safety issue than anything.
