I made a bar with an ABS drain pipe with some aluminium brackets and screwed it in the clothes hanger support holes. I then used a universal camera mount. I do not have a pic in the car but here is the setup:

Now that is funny--I've got a piece of 1/2" conduit that I bent on both ends to mount in the same spot! Great minds think alike... I wasn't sure if the threaded plastic insert that the coat hook attaches to is strong enough (particularly in the event of a crash), so I picked up some rivnuts from McMaster that I'm considering mounting in the plastic above the coathook. When not in use, they will be covered with a black plastic cap.

I'm also rethinking using a headrest mount, though, as the Aiptek recorder I have is so light that I can't see it causing any movement on a headrest mount. This is such a simple solution...hmmm, back to the conduit bender for another prototype.
