I finally pulled the trigger on some new lightweight rotary forged racing wheels.
18x9.5 super light at 19.9 lbs. my first set of wheels were the stock Brembos that weighed 30.2 pounds. My current wheels are the replica Laguna Seca ones. 29lbs each. That's a weight savings of over 36 pounds!
I'll be installing Toyo R888s soon. I can't wait to test the new set up.

 

Nice what wheels are those?? More so than the total weight, you'll notice the loss of 9lb per corner a LOT more. Your car will fee lighter on its feet, turn in sharper, accelerate quicker and brake shorter. I hated going back to my stock Brembo wheels for now

I have been thinking about going a similar route, but I also want to stay with 19, preferably 19x10. I want to wait to hear some feedback on theses:

They are made by a European-based company called TSW. The wheels I purchased are called interlagos. And yes, I believe they make those in the 19 inch size as well.
I got a killer deal I only paid $275 a wheel!

You'll love the setup. Changing wheels with lightweight ones makes you never want to touch a heavy wheel again!!! I like the R888's this far too. Great grip and they're wearing well

 

I chose the 18 inch wheel for several reasons.
The first obvious reason is more tire choices. The second reason is a significant reduction in weight.
I found that most serious track day guys run the 18 inch wheels whether they're driving a viper, Porsche, Corvette or mustang.

 

As soon as they're mounted please post as many pics as you can. I'd like to see how the offset looks. I'm going to keep my eyes open for these wheels on Mustangs at shows and cruises. So far I like the way they look.

How shiny is the machined face portion of the wheels? Are the entire spokes polished or just the top of each spoke?

 

Only the front face of the spoke is polished. I don't like highly polished wheels either. I would have preferred gunmetal but that was not available.
