BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (July 31, 2005) -- No. 69 Krohn Racing/TRG Porsche 996 co-drivers Nic Jönsson and Tracy Krohn have been stripped of their victory in the Barber Park 200 by Grand-Am Cup Series officials for using an illegal engine in Saturday's race at Barber Motorsports Park. No. 13 Unitech Racing Nissan 350Z co-drivers Blake Rosser and David Murry, who crossed the line 0.718 seconds behind Jönsson, have been declared the winners of the Barber Park 200.

The illegal engine was discovered in post-race technical inspection, and the team and drivers were stripped of the victory, as well as all race points and prize money. The team was also fined an additional $5,000, which will be donated to Camp Boggy Creek, a proud charity of Grand American.

"Porsche offers an engine with a larger horsepower rating that we do not allow in the Grand-Am Cup Series," said Grand American Deputy Director of Competition Scott Spencer. "At some point, the Krohn/TRG team chose to put that engine in their car. This was a very serious offense."

The Barber Park 200 would have been the first Grand-Am Cup Series victory for Krohn and Jönsson. The co-drivers will also compete in the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series Porsche 250 presented by Bradley Arant this afternoon, sharing the No. 67 Krohn Racing/TRG Pontiac Riley.

The Barber Park 200 will be televised on SPEED Channel at 1:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, August 6. The Rolex Series Porsche 250 presented by Bradley Arant airs live on SPEED Channel this afternoon beginning at 1 p.m. ET.

This means instead of coming in 4th Place the Multimatic FR500C Mustang #05 gets a podium finish--3rd Place which should keep them in first overall and in Manufacturers points!!

All modifications to cars in Grand Am Cup are closely controlled to keep all of the cars on as even a playing field as possible.
