New Personal Best: 12.11 @ 112+
It was our local track's opening day yesterday (Pacific Raceways near Seattle, WA), so I bolted on the drag radials, pulled non-essentials out of my '07 GT (spare, jack, rear seat, etc.) and braved a bit of light rain with hopes of a personal best run.
Took my handheld tuner so I could play with timing. My supercharger is not intercooled, so my custom dyno tune has just 14 degrees of timing in it. On the dyno, going with 16 resulted in the PCM pulling timing at WOT, so we went with 14 to be safe. However, at the track, I wanted to try a few different settings. I got three runs in..
16 degrees of timing. Computer pulled timing on me and the car just didn't feel right. Ran 12.425 @ 111.61 in the 1/4 mile on a 1.919 sixty foot.
14 degrees of timing. This is my normal street setting. Car hooked good and ran a 12.250 @ 112.18 on a 1.876 sixty foot.
15 degrees of timing. This was the sweet spot. I knew it was my best run before I even got to the traps! Finished with a 12.110 @ 112.51 on a 1.819 sixty foot.
The track was well prepped. Lots of VHT traction compound. I just installed a line lock recently so the drag radials were working their magic at 20 psi and hooking perfectly all day.
I was really hoping to see an 11.999 or better, but I'm about 20-30 rwhp short of doing so. Gives me something to work for this season!
Here's the slip from my best pass yesterday (I'm car #951 in the left lane)

I ran my best on 92 octane pump gas and 15 degrees of timing. I was almost out of gas, so I pumped in several gallons of 100 octane unleaded race fuel before bumping up to 16 degrees. Shook the car long and hard to mix it in. Wasn't enough to keep the PCM from pulling timing during that pass, though, and the car went slower. Backed it down to 14 degrees to be conservative and I think I'll leave it there - even if it keeps me from running high 11's. I'm risk-averse and don't want my stock engine to go boom!

A friend of mine caught my second best pass on film > 12.25 @ 112.18...

Here was my worst pass of the day was against a Camaro driver who couldn't find a dang gear to save his soul. I put a couple extra degrees of timing in my tune for this run, but it started spark knocking so the PCM pulled a bunch of timing and slowed me down to a 12.42 @ 111.61...

New personal best again (Friday, May 7th at Bremerton Raceway). Ran a 12.07 at 112+ in the 1/4 mile on a 1.76 sixty foot. My 330 foot time was my first ever below 5 seconds (4.98) and my 1/8 mile was a 7.70 @ 90. Got lots of runs in, so the car was being hot lapped, so most were in the 12.2's. On the 12.07 run I could tell during the run it was going to be my best ever as it just felt so strong. And all runs that night were into a strong headwind. If only we would have had a tailwind instead there might have been an 11.9 in there somewhere for me. Oh well - next time.

No I just need to keep my car cooler so I can consistently run 11's (i.e. water/meth injection or aftercooler).

I just wish I ran 11's every run. The 11.85 was certainly magical, but I have not repeated it yet. A few 12.0's and 12.1's, plus a bunch of 12.2's so far this year, though. I'll be happy when it runs in the 11's every pass consistently. Going to order water/methanol injection soon - my wife has finally agreed that it would be money well spent. She wants me to get a decent set of guages, too, so I showed her yours, Scott (from that video you made for Colby last week).

Well, my quest for the 11's came to fruition over the weekend. While I had run an 11.85 several months back, it was the only time I had run in the 11's. I made a few minor, yet key, changes to my setup and was rewarded this weekend with a pair of 11's: 11.79 @ 113.92 and 11.85 @ 114.01. Here's the timeslips, followed by a video of each run (click on them to play them).....

I bet there isn't many other cars with 364 rwhp running those times.
