Mustangs @Mosport 2015
Toronto area Mustangs returned to the Legendary Track (One of the fastest Road Courses in North America) on June 2nd for the annual Mustangs at Mosport Track Day.
Here's a video of one of my sessions and some pics from the day, that regrettably, had to end early, due to some major crashes.

Unless you get track insurance. Every time I go out I purchase a motor sports policy from Lockton motorsports. It's ~$200 for the weekend, and there is a 10% deductible. But for a $30K car it's a lot easier to walk away from $3k than $30k.

Wow, that track looks amazing. A little short on run off in a few places though. Nice driving! Sad to see all the Mustang carnage. Hopefully they were insured.
Good to see a 2015 out there as well! I hope to run into some S550s this year as well at the local tracks. So far no luck. Great video and sweet Shelby, thanks for posting.

That's a good deal. I've never tracked a car so I had no idea you could buy insurance.

Read the fine print in that track INS. Policy. Most are a very interesting read.
You can get Track Insurance here in Canada, but Mosport will cost you $400+ and Companies will not insure full race cars, cars with particular MODS are excluded and if your car is valued at less than 30K, you can't get coverage, further the deductible 5K and there are a whole myriad of terms and exclusions.
Further, if you owe money on your car, most Finance and Lease contracts will be voided if your car hits the Track.
The good news about the accidents that occurred is the drivers had only minor injuries.

I haven't had to use a track policy yet (knock on wood), and I know they are a PITA. But I have read all the fine print, and here in US you agree on the value of the car, and the deductible is a % of that value. Last time I put $28k as the agreed value. Full race cars are not insured, but your mods are, based on value which just makes your deductible higher if you choose to do it. The only thing the policy covers is physical damage to your vehicle.

Glad to hear everyone walked away with just scratches.

The Policies definitely provide some peace of mind, but for many, the track day fee, wear items (tires and brakes) etc, and adding on Track Ins. could push many track days to way over $1000 for the day and for those that hit the track a lot, that can prove to be a costly track season.
That said, if I had a McLaren or a GT3 or some BIG MONEY car, I'd be looking into it, no doubt.
