Great pictures and amazing capture of 154's shunt.

Hope the driver was okay and that the car will live to race again.

Jamie Slone was the driver in the 154. And after the accident, aside from some pretty serious bruising to the body and ego, he's doing pretty well. Jamie had qualified 9th, despite this being his first ever Grand-Am race, and was doing very well in the race up to the incident.

The trans broke. Our guys took it back to the garage and replaced the transmission and sent it back out on track. The repair took about an hour. it was kind of a bummer too, because this was a fresh trans that worked really well during test days.

We are pretty happy with the result for the 59, but i think we are all mostly just happy that Jamie wasn't seriously injured in the 154. As you guys can see in the pics, it hit pretty hard.

Looks like the #154's crumple zone worked as intended!

Excellent pics. I'm still miffed that Speed Channel will be showing us what? Maybe 3 of this season's races. They've showed every one over the previous two years. It stinks. I was home sick and hung by my computer for the live scoring and audio. That was pretty cool seeing how that was my only option!

Nice Top 10 for the #59. Well done!

Rumor has it that many more of the races will be televised, but the TV package hasn't been finalized, so most of it isn't published. Please continue to email Speed to express interest in getting more Koni Challenge coverage

Glad to hear the driver is ok. A testament to the barrier and the build of the car.

I would love to run a Grand-Am race in the future. Too bad his first ever race ended in the wall ! Did he just cook it or was it a traffic related issue?

His qualifying performance is impressive. Best of luck in the next race.

I think it was a little of both, he got a little out of his comfort zone and it happened to be in a place where he turned into a passenger very quickly. I hope the incident doesn't discourage him from continuing, as he is pretty talented, and catches on to things very quickly.

It seems that Speed Vision would rather show Unique Whips...nothing speedy about that except everybody running their mouths on that show.

This race for me was very exciting. I'm not sure if I got super into seeing all the awesome Mustangs out there kicking azz or what but I found it very entertaining. They need to put it on more.

It was an awsome race. I was a little ticked as Speeds schedule was off by 1/2 hour, so my DVR recording ended early and I didn't get to see the finish.
