The Multimatic-built car, which has competed in both the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge and Pirelli World Challenge this year under series-specific homologations, received its final approval on July 31, per a Ford spokesperson.
Ford Performance Global Director Dave Pericak told Sportscar365 in June that the relocation of the oil tank had been one of the holdups in the approval process, which was initially intended for the start of the year.
The Mustang GT4 is now eligible for competition in all GT4 championships worldwide, including the GT4 European Series, British GT Championship and Blancpain GT Series Asia, as well as endurance races such as the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour and Motul Sepang 12 Hours.

Holt said the 30 confirmed orders, which range from customers set to race the car in the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge or Pirelli World Challenge, to track day activities or private collectors, does not include European sales.
Multimatic has yet to establish a European distributor and technical support partner, although Holt confirmed they’ve been in talks with M-Sport.
