autocrossing w/auto/trans & SC

autocrossing w/auto/trans & SC
I did a little local autocrossing last year befoe installing Roush M-90 SC.
Last year I would just put it in 3rd (auto) and go. I guess I'll try that for starters. My question, is autocrossing with an auto trans ok, or is doing this going to take a toll on the trans?
Please chime in if you've got so info for me.
