OK, I've seen lots of discussion about Zaino. So what the heck is it and how is it different than wax (or is it different?)?

I would say that has nothing to do with Zaino. More like what normally happens when water sits on a car after it rains and the sun dries it. Good ol' water spots.

Rumor is, technically it's not a 'wax', but a polish/sealant. Whatever. All's I know is that I've used it for a couple of years now, it looks as good as any, better than most, but outlasts anything else I've ever seen or tried by a long shot.

Right, it's not a wax, and not a "polish" as they label it. It is technically a sealant, which is supposed to last longer than a wax.

Rain will leave water spots, as mentioned above. This is my first black car, and the water spots are like nothing I've ever seen before. Just a side note on Zaino-I use the Z16 for the tires, trim and the covers that surround the side mirrors. I had problems with "runoff" of Z16 onto the paint after rain or washing. It left large cloudy areas. The kind posters here told me I needed to do a better job of buffing off the excess Z16. Problem solved! This place is great!

Do the Z6 or Z8 and it should go away.(Of course, clean first if it is dirty)

You mean Z6 or Z8 right? Z7 is the shampoo.

If your Mustang has been rained on and you want to detail it, please dont go to your QD to clean the paint, wash it 1st!

One step further is to get the water off the car before it can dry.If your car is uncovered and it rains on it and the sun comes out the beads of water act like minature magnifing glasses etching you paint. A combination of dirt and acid in the air from things like power plants and car exhaust makes it even worse.I read this in a car care book from Griots Garage car care products,It explained what those spots were on the flat panels of my old car.I use Zaino but my car has yet to see the rain.

It's pretty easy to get confused when all of their products are Z-#.

You would think the numbering scheme would be a little more logical too. The car wash should be Z1 and not Z7 since you use it first.

No, because then it would make sense.
