I just purchased a kit from Zaino and am now trying to find some quality towels for it. I'm looking online at places like Bed, Bath, and Beyond but am having trouble finding the right kind. I know to look for Made in the USA, but some of these brands are confusing. Some say 100% cotton loops..some say 100% cotton *and* 100% cotton loops..some say 100% Supima  cotton loops...All seem to have designs through the middle which I'm worried might not be 100% cotton...Zaino recommends some particular brands..but those are out of business

If anyone can give some brand preferences for washing/waxing that would be great! Thanks!

Yes.

Use microfiber cloths. I know Zaino only recommends 100% cotton, but Microfibers are better. They do not scratch your finish as much as cotton.

www.exceldetail.com

has some great towels. If you go to Pep Boys pick up some Meguiars Supreme Shine icrofiber towels.

For washing get the Blue or Monterey drying towel from exceldetail.com it is wonderful and I have it.

I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and scoured a bunch of towels. Finally found a huge bath towell that simply said 100% Cotton and Made in the U.S.A. Online, I have no idea how you're going to find that.

Made in USA towels that Zaino refers to are just plain cotton terry towels that is sold at car stores with the wax stuff. I bought a 50 pack of em at Costco and they are great. Make sure you wash them first, they have lint on em when they're new.

Seriousely guys, get microfiber. They are MUCH safer than cotton and will not scratch as much as 100% cotton Made in USA towels.

Microfiber is better for waxing IMO. I was able to pick up a pack of three right at autozone for around $5.00.

For drying after washing I use a chamois. They are washable and really soft. I have one for the car and one for the wheels.

Don't chamois cloths dry out? I thought they were a pain the rear to maintain. I use one of those blue absorber blankets to dry my car off with. That thing gets probably 97% of the water. The rest dries off and leaves a little spotting but I always Zaino Z6 the car after I wash it anyway and that takes care of it.

Whats the difference in the blue and yellow towels? Just color?
Buy 6 Blue Supreme Microfiber polishing towels, we'll add 1 extra! 7 for the price of 6!
Buy 6 Yellow Supreme Microfiber polishing towels, we'll add 1 extra! 7 for the price of 6!

Id like to start with all new stuff for the Mustang. (washing, polishing, drying) materials. Already had the Zaino Ultimate kit.
What would you recommend to purchase for someone that has nothing yet.

Autozone sells microfiber towels. They work great! I've used them for polishing the wax and a different one for cleaning windows with Invisible Glass. First rate!

Best bang for the buck: Microtex microfiber towels at Wal-Mart. In the car care section, down low. They're blue and about 2'x3', for around $7 each. I have several of them and as long as you keep them off the ground, and wash them with nothing else in hot water and rinse them at least twice, and dry without a dryer sheet, they WILL NOT scratch your car. I use them to dry after washing and removing Zaino.

I have a few microfiber towels. They are great to dry & polish, I was using 100% Cotton Terry towels before, but they don't match up to how quick I can dry and detail my car.

I used zaino from day 1 on my last car, which was black...I have to say that although i love zaino, the cotton towel thing is :notnice:

i've since switched to microfibre for my new mustang - i ordered a bunch from EShinehere in canada. nothing but microfibre touches the paint now - including the wash mit, drying towels and buffing towels - i even have designated one of the towels for applying the polish (none of those foam applicator thingys). i also highly reccomend the liquid soap that eshine.ca sells for washing the microfibre - they come out perfectly clean everytime.

COSTCO......Has a 20 pack of yellow 16"x16" microfiber towels for under $10.00.

I have used these for everthing on my cars.

I also bought two 100% cotton towels from Bed , bath & beyond,
these towls are cut in half and striped of all edging then ran through the
wash and dry cycle twice. They are used STRICKLY for the final coat of spray polish/wax.
