I really don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've helped detail concours level show cars, and using the same products I have always used my black 06 already has significant swirling noticeable in direct sunlight.

This is what I did --

pinnacle wash, pinnacle clay, klasse all in one, klasse sealant glaze x1 coat with 12 hour leave on, 2 coats of pinnacle souveran, pinnacle detailing mist inbetween wash, wash pinnacle microfiber mit, dried with california wet blade and a cobra waffle weave microfiber towel, 1 more coat of klasse sealant glaze, 2 more coats of souveran.

I use only cobra microfiber towels.

I apply and remove in straight lines, trying not to cross or ever go in a circular motion.

I'm at a complete loss how I'm getting swirls, and how exactly products that have been terrific for me in the past simply arn't doing what I'd hoped.

The finish is glass smooth, water beads and rolls off readily, and it has a great shine. I'm just getting damned swirls.

I went to linens and things today to try my old standby, good quality 100% cotton made in USA bath towels. Also bought some Zaino Z-5 on order. We'll see which solves the problem.

was there swirl marks in the paint before you started to apply your stuff? If they were already in the paint you would need to polish them out first.

Klasse all in one is similiar to Z-5 in that it is a general non abrasive polish. They did buff the hood, it had overspray and clearcoat scratches, those already existed. I am, however, now getting clearcoat scratches after the fact.

I just bought a 95 Cobra and it has swirl marks. With 2 kids, husband deployed and 20 degree weather I can't do it myself. Where can I take it and how much is it going to cost me to make her shiny again?

I don't exactly know why you are getting swirls, but it is useless to put two coats of souveran then cover it up with SG x 2. Use sealant glaze 2 coats after AIO THEN put souveran on. Souveran is just for looks, it is so soft and maluable that it wont do anything under sealant glaze

Got a Zaino kit for my birthday from a friend. Will dawn the car then start new, using a chenille mit to wash this time and try that. I'll do 3 coats of Z-5, 1 coat Z-2, another coat of Z-5 and 2-3 coats of Z-2 and then Z-8 on top of that. Z-6 inbetween coats. We'll see where that gets me

Are you SURE they are swirl marks and not just the natural spider-webbing design of the way the paint and clear is sprayed????

Was it NOT there before, and now it is?

If so, I am a firm believer of removing them - not just covering them up with polish. I use to cover them with Zaino on my black car and that was fine as long as I kept up with the multiple coats, but now on the 01 and the expensive paint job, I use a PC and swirl removers - then I do the full Zaino process and you have never seen or felt silkier paint.

If it truly is swirls I'd remove them first. Then use your favorite choice of polish.

my .02

Good luck
