Anyone mounted an aftermarket piece like a side scoop or spoiler to the car with that doublesided moutning tape and then had to remove it?

Will that stuff damage the car's paint on removal?
Window louvers are one thing since they mount directly to the glass but was wondering about the items that mount DIRECTLY to the car....

Anyone had any experience with that??

I have heard people have removed their tape with a new razorblade starting in one corner and just pulling it off with no damage

You heat up the area with a hairdryer and remove the tape. Any residue can be removed using Goo-gone or WD40. If an adhesive promoter was used the paint might be dull in that area. You will need to polish the area to bring back the beautiful shine it once had.

Others have used a piece of waxed dental floss (such as Glide) to "cut" through the adhesive, then used "Goof Off" or "Goo Gone".

Yes it can, but that is only if you use it in direct sunlight and allow it to dry. Use it inside a garage or under shade. Once done, wash the area completely to remove any residue and goo-gone. Same goes with any other adhesive removers you use.

No he controls the internet useage logs :P

Another good product i've used is the 3m adhesive remover. Its a spray aerosole in a blue can. Works well on removing excess glue and sticky crap left over from body parts and pin striping.
