So, while washing my car today I notice I have a lovely 1/8 inch long "scratch like" thin chip in my paint. It is all the way down to the car body, right behind my passenger side door. Do I have any options to somehow "kinda" fix this? Any help...no money to repaint.

UGH

I've gotten pretty good at touch-up. Get the matching color from your dealer. Apply it to the scratch, making sure it fills it. You'll have to build it up over the level of the rest of the paint. Once it dries completely, use Meguiar's POLISH, not compound, on an old t-shirt. Rub the touched up area vigorously until the built up paint is gone. You'll actually feel the heat on your fingertip. Once you've done that, the scratch should be filled and level with the rest of the paint. It works for me very well. You have to inspect it very carefully to even notice. Hope this helps!

Good little tip, I need to fix up a little area as well. Good thing it's in a little corner of the headlight bucket, because I know it will be real hard to see once I get it filled in.

My son decided to drag his bicycle pedal along my bumper one day and he gave me this!

So now I get to try to become an expert at wet sanding. I have a whole detail sheet from another Mustang owner who is a paint technician. Sounds like a few days worth of work.

The kids are good at doing things like that. At least you've got red. It blends pretty well. Things could be worse though, he could've opened a door into it!

Good luck fixing her!
