I'm going to do my first oil change soon. Is there a washer with the plug ? or just the plug ? The reason i ask is, sometimes you have to replace the washer.

If I recall, ExCon addressed this issue and was bummed that the washer was like $7.00 or something.

 

I take then, every time you change your oil, you have to put a new washer on also?

 

I've changed it twice - never noticed a washer, but no leaks either. SO: either it is stuck on my plug and is ok to re-use or mine doesn't have a washer. Give it a shot - if it leaks, get a washer for the next oil change.

 

I never saw a washer.... looks like there might be a gasket mashed into the plug, though. I'll be changing my oil for the fourth time and no leaks.
