I just got through using it and everything trackslayer said is exactly what I experienced. No spots at all.

 

i used it the other day on a dark blue car... was happy with the results no spots. i am thinking when it comes time to buy refills i am going to just wash with normal soap and bucket... and use the mr clean for the filter and dry part only. i think buying thier soap and all will get too expensive... also be sure not to drop the mr clean thing too hard like you would a regular nozzle. I dropped mine on the grass and basically the cover over the soap came off so i was out of soap in it before i was half way done with the car. the starter bottle that was supposed to last 3 washes lasted me 1 because of this.

 

Just wanted to let you guys know, I got the autodry for my b-day and I tried it out on my red mustang and my friend's orange 3000gt. No spots on either car! Really easy to use. The only thing that I dont like is the price of the refill soap... Does anybody know if you use other soaps in the autodry if it will still prevent spots? Because I know that they say that the soap helps in the autodrying process, but it could just be a scam to make people buy their expensive soap.

 

I've used a bucket with zaino soap like HD said and have had no problems.

This thing works great. Now I just hope they sell enough to keep it on the market. My local store where I buy filters keeps running out of them so I guess thats a good sign.

 

Used it on my black GT vert a few spots but over all pretty good. Used it on my mineral gray, but only rinsed it with the filter. No spots at all.

The unit itself is kind of clunky. They advise doing parts of the car at a time. Had a few spots resulting from overspray. Washed the car normally and just rinsed with Mr Clean. No spots.

 

What about the possibility of damage to the clearcoat?
What chemicals are in their formula?

 

I used the thing for awhile, but I've gone back to the normal towel-dry method. The filters just don't hold up long enough. I found that every 3rd or 4th wash, I'd have to buy a new filter, and they aren't too cheap. It's more of a nuisance to drive to the store than it is to actually spend the money, but it still stinked. Worked well for what it advertised, though.

 

my brother had a black z28 and said the autodry isnt worth it on black cars since you have to redo some areas

 

3rd wash left spots. The stuff stinks on longevity of filters. :notnice:
Anyone want to buy one Mr Clean with one refill for the soap and one refill for the filters? I hate to break into the spares if they help me sell the kit to some one else.

 

I stopped using mine. I have owned two different black cars within the last 6 years and this is the first time I got stuck with some water spots etched into the paint. One of two things happened. Either the chemicals in the drying filter caused the problem or you should not just spray the unit over the car without redoing it with a towel.

It is also funny that when this came out the dry filters were labeled as
"3 uses" and have been replaced by "10 uses" instead. You have to stock up on the stuff here. I'll stick to handwashing for now.

 

I actually got the Mr Clean Car wash to try on my true blue stang, but it did not work too well, it still left spots. Now I just use it as a washer nozzle and put Meguiar's soap in it instead of the Mr. Clean car wash and I use a waffle weave towel to dry my car. No matter how many times I followed the instructions I still got spots.

 

I tried it at a friends, the rinse seemed to take a reaally long time, but it smells delicious....

I was surprised. I only did two washes. My green T-bird and my wife's blue Cav. Both came clean. No spots on the car or windows. But that is only the first two washes with the filter.

 

I really like the results..I just hate the clunkiness of the spray gun. It's really large and unweildy..and I'm always afraid I'm gonna break it. It feels like it's made by Playskool

 

I know what you mean. I usually just drop the hose down when I am done spraying. I had to make sure I did not do that with this gun.
