Well I only have 2 coats of Meguires NXT paste wax on the car. I used a clay bar before waxing the car. Turned out pretty good. Very reflective. Unfortunately the only pic that shows just how good it looks I am not allowed to post, since my wife is in it and she refuses to let me posts pics that she is in :bang:

I also chopped the antenna down to 12" today. If only my side louvers had arrived.....
Are the stripes painted on or vinyl decals? I'm going to order the boss hood stripe from graphics-express, but am wondering how waxing them affects their durability. I would think waxing over them would be beneficial...

I prefer to use Meguirs NXT because it is one step instead of all the mixing and multi-step process used when using Zaino. It is easy to get and it is cheaper and the main thing, it gives you a great shine.

They are vinyl and yes, you can wax over them. I highly recommend you do wax them.

Awesome in yellow! Last summer I bought my 18 year old an '04 for high school graduation, and he grabbed a brand new brochure for the '05 as we prepared to drive his new stang away. On the way home, I browsed through the 05 brochure and my eyes fell on the picture of the yellow GT with the dealer installed racing stripes and said "I have to have that!". It took several months and literally ended up finding two coming off a truck at a dealership: an auto in yellow, and a manual in red. I went with the manual.

I'm going for a sort of Boss look with the hood stripe, chin spoiler, rear louvers and black rear wing. Haven't yet decided on the side stripes (the L shaped "Boss" or the C stripe), but I think it will look good on my Torch Red. Since I'm adding real hood pins and the quicklifts for the hood, I'm just going to have a body shop do it all for me. Hopefully all done in the next 30 days.

John

your car looks amazing great shine!!
i have used 4 coats of Zaino on my first Stang, and now that I have the second I will be using the Meguires NXT and will be able to compare them side by side.
I love the Zaino--but I hate ordering it..I like to be able to run to the store and pick up the Meguires...

Here's a white with only 3 coats of NXT. What do you think, Kevin?

First off - adrenalin, your car looks amazing...

I've been using Mothers & Meguires products for years. I currently have 2 coats of Meguires paste on the yellow stang. Last night, we picked up the NXT...

Question: should I start from scratch - wash the car with dawn and claybar before doing 1st coat of NXT?

I know I would start from scratch since you are now using a different product.

It seems for the $$ the Meguires is the way to go. Where is the best place to purchase? I've looked around and can't seem to find it anywhere.
