Just Piloted Turtlewax ICE

I didn't want to spring for the Zaino so I thought I'd try this stuff. The most attractive part of the deal was the fact that it goes on clear, and theres no residue.

Well it works, and works well. I would recommend if you don't want to spring for the Zaino.

A friend of mine bought ICE and tried it on his WRX. We weren't impressed with it at all and he ended up giving the bottle to his co-worker. He got better results with Simply Z-Best Car Wax.

97, since it goes on clear, will it ruin black plastic molding?
also how do you know what you wiped off already?

That's a tough one. Turtle Wax claims it's safe on plastic and vinyl trim, as well as non-painted surfaces. Many who used ICE claim it makes the plastic moldings shiny.

My issue with ICE is that if it goes on clear, how can you tell if it's actually doing its job? And how can you tell where to buff?

When you apply it there is a bit of a haze so you can tell where it is. I didn't run into any issues with the moldings that I can tell. I will look at it again more closely and see what if anything I can see.

You do have to buff it off but it's pretty quick. I washed and waxed the whole car in about 2 hours.

Thanks. The ragtops have a lot more molding than the coupes. BACK TO BLACK by MOTHERS works awesome to keep em looking like new though..

It might be cheaper than Zaino, but check the durability of the stuff after 2 or 3 good rainshowers and a few sun soaked days.....I bet you won't be happy. Zaino gives you bang for your buck, been a user over 6 years now and it hasn't let me down yet, in fact, the formulations just get better with the continuing R&D Sal does.
